Open House
The Chair convened the site visit and welcomed all present. Members of the State Legislature
were present. The Chair recognized the Mayor, who shared her appreciation for the Council in
offering the opportunity. The group gathered in the Council Chambers and heard from
Preservation Utah Docent Linda Flanders who provided historical points regarding the use of
the room and the building.
The site visit made their way to the fifth floor, where Preservation Utah Docent Shannon Coons
shared additional history of the building and the area including the current value of the building
($80 Million). Following discussion on the fifth floor, some of the site visit attendees visited the
Clock Tower.
Refreshments were provided on the third floor.
