Chairperson, Bart Summerhays brought the meeting to order and asked
everyone to introduce themselves. Following the introductions, Bart asked
everyone if they had a chance to review the minutes and if anyone had any
additions or corrections to the minutes. Harvey Glade made a motion to
accept the minutes as written and Ila Rose Fife seconded the motion. The
Board voted unanimously to accept the minutes as written.
Bart announced that effective July 1, 1996 the John W. Gallivan Utah
Center will no longer be a part of the Recreation Division, but will be part of
the C B D, (Central Business District), under the direction of Brad Baxter.
Bart reviewed the hand-out on the proposed tennis fee increase sent to the
Board by Wayne Oberg. (See handout.)
Steve Parker, Kathy Rollman and Rob Bridge led the Board on a tour of the
new facility. Steve told the Board that the Grand Opening was currently
scheduled for Tuesday, June 11 .
The Board decided that they would meet at Forest Dale Clubhouse on June
20, and would golf immediately following the meeting at 5:30.
With no other business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned at 5:30 PM.

A. A person or persons desiring to play tennis upon any court located in
Liberty Park and the city's Dee Smith Tennis Courts shall pay for use of such
court at the maximum rate of four dollars per hour per court during any of the
following times:
1. For Dee Smith, every day all day from sunup to sundown and throughout
the entire year, weather permitting;
2. For Liberty Park, weekdays form 5:00 p.m. until closing, and on
Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from eight a.m. until five p.m.
B. A person or persons desiring to play tennis upon any tennis court located in
Liberty Park shall pay for the use of such court at the maximum rate of three
dollars per hour per court during any of the following times:
1. Weekdays from eight a.m. to five p.m..
C. Play on any other tennis court owned by the city during hours other than as
shown above shall be free of charge.
D. In Liberty Park, from May 15th to October 15th, no person shall be
allowed to reserve more than one court for play at the same time during weekdays
form five p.m. until closing or Saturdays,Sundays and holidays from eight a.m.
until five p.m. During other hours, group reservations (two or more courts) shall
be limited to no more than five courts at any one time. A person making a group
reservation shall pay a maximum of four dollars per hour per court reserved.
E. Any group or organization desiring to reserve any tennis courts at Liberty
Park for the purpose of conducting a tournament which is open to the general
public, or to all persons within a specific age group, and which tournament is
sanctioned by the Utah Tennis Association, shall not be restricted to the number of
courts nor to the days and hours prescribed by subsection d of this section, or its
successor; however, a fee of three dollars per hour per court so reserved shall be

paid to the lessee irrespective of the time of the year or the hour of the day such
courts are reserved. Tennis courts may be reserved for like tournament play, or
any tournament not sanctioned by the Utah Tennis Association, at other city tennis
