Meeting Open & Welcome: Jeff Worthington called the meeting to order and established a quorum, except for Jana Bake all members of the committee were present. Review & adopt: The committee members reviewed and approved the minutes from the January 5, 2021 meeting. The motion was set by Brandon Dew with a second motion from Ray Schelble. Members of the committee have requested for future meeting minutes to include details, such as Q&As and an expansion on any relevant topic that would be helpful to The Committee. Public Comment: None. Discussion of topics: David Salazar shared with The Committee updates on the following topics for considerations: • Local area benchmark market data & analysis: David Salazar updated The Committee on the status of the report. David also shared with The Committee the analysis will be conducted using the same methodology done in the previous year. • Internal pay equity audit: David Salazar provided the status update on the final pay equity report. The final report is anticipated to be completed and provided by Payfactors then to be shared with The Committee prior to the next CCAC meeting occurring on February 2, 2021. Q: Mike Terry inquired on any outstanding special surveys or requests from city council. A: David Salazar confirmed, apart from the pay equity audit report there is no outstanding requests from city council. • Salt Lake County living wage data: The City will provide this data to The Committee once Salt Lake County has released the updated figures on its website. • WorldatWork 2020-21 salary budget forecast: David Salazar shared with The Committee the WorldatWork salary budget projections for the year 2020-2021 as shown below. SLC employee turnover and recruitment data statistics: David Salazar shared a preliminary report of The City’s 2020 Overall Recruitment Statistics with The Committee, the previous year’s stats were also shared as a reference point. The City is to share the final copy with The Committee once all the necessary corrections and updates are made. Q: Mike Terry inquired on the difference between the turnover rate and retention numbers as outlined in the report. A: David Salazar to follow up on this inquiry in the next CCAC meeting. Employee benefits information: David Salazar provided an update from NFP and based on the response from Dave Jackson, the current additional economic value of benefits will remain at $3,152 per year. This is the same as reported in last year’s local area benchmark market data & analysis (column J). Q: Mike Terry inquired if no adjustments were given to employees because of COVID-19. A: David Salazar confirmed apart from the merit/step increases that were approved and given to union employees, there were no adjustments given to employees due to COVID-19. Q: Ray Shelble inquired on the determination of the benefits additional economic value and The City’s Median Employee Salary and how it compares to the market. A: David Salazar provided a brief overview of how this number was determined and the recommendations made in the previous year by The Committee.
