10/11/2021 - Meeting Minutes MEETING MINUTES SALT LAKE CITY AND COUNTY BUILDING CONSERVANCY AND USE COMMITTEE ELECTRONIC MEETING HELD, MONDAY OCTOBER 11, 2021 COMMITTEE MEMBERS PRESENT EX OFFICIO MEMBERS PRESENT Jennifer Hale, Chairperson Jim Cleland, SLC Facilities John Kemp, Committee Member Nelson Knight, SLC Planning Rob Pett, Committee Member Joan Swain, SLC Facilities Kathy Davis, Committee Member Kyle Shields, SLC Parks Tony Gliot, SLC Urban Forestry COMMITTEE MEMBERS ABSENT November 8, 2021 Barbara Murphy, Committee Member Mark Thimm, Vice Chairperson Steve Cornell, Committee Member Anne Oliver, Committee Member Jennifer welcomed Committee Members to the meeting and asked for a roll call of those present: Jennifer Hale, Committee Chair; John Kemp, Committee Member, Rob Pett, Committee Member; Kathy Davis, Committee Member; Jim Cleland, SLC Facilities; Kyle Shields, SLC Planning; Tony Gliot, SLC Urban Forestry; Nelson Knight, SLC Planning AGENDA ITEM 1: Welcome and Introduction of new Committee Member, Kathy Davis Jennifer introduced, Kathy Davis, newly appointed Committee Member representing the SLC Arts Council and asked her to tell the Committee a little of her background. Kathy graduated from the University of Utah, Juris Doctor, College of Law, a Bachelor of Arts, History as well as a Certificate, Nonprofit Academy for Excellence. Kathy received a Master of Arts, Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix. She is currently employed as Assistant Attorney General with the State of Utah Office of Attorney General, Department of Natural Resources, Public Lands Section. She became a part of the Salt Lake Arts Council, describing herself as a “theater geek” so she joined the Arts Council to support the theater, she suggested she also likes the Ballet and the Symphony and is always amazed at how many arts organizations this metropolitan area supports. AGENDA ITEM 2: Review and Approval of Meeting Minutes for September 13, 2021 Jennifer noted that there is no quorum present so the minutes cannot be approved. AGENDA ITEM 3: Washington Square Grounds Walk Jennifer introduced Tony Gliot from SLC Urban Forestry and Kyle Shields from SLC Parks and explained that they will lead the tour of the grounds and explain the condition of the trees and the grounds as result of the wind event that occurred in 2020. There was no official adjournment after the walk as there was no quorum present. 1
