Minutes A motion was made by Cyndy Miller and seconded by Theresa Foxley to approve the minutes of February 16, 2022 as presented. All votes were affirmative; motion passed. B. Director's Report Bill Wyatt, Executive Director, updated the Airport Advisory Board regarding current events. Steve Price asked how the increased fuel prices were affecting the aviation industry. Bill Wyatt explained jet fuel follows crude oil prices. Most airlines hedge their fuel so we could see increased ticket prices later in the year. C. Airport Redevelopment Program (ARP) Update—Mike Williams,ARP Director, SLCDA Mike Williams, Airport Redevelopment Program (ARP) Director,presented an update on the ARP (presentation on file). Main points included were: • Project statistics • Safety and Schedule Stats, and Cost Summary • Project statistics • CGMP #5 —Terminal/South Concourse West/Gateway status • CGMP #6—Roadways/Parking Garage/Central Utility Plant status • CGMP #7—Baggage Handling System status • CGMP #9A— SCW Apron Paving and Hydrant Fueling status • CGMP #16—NCP Phase 1 • CGMP #17—NCP Baggage Handling System Phases 1 & 2 status • CGMP #18—NCP Apron Paving/Hydrant Fueling • Tracking Budget • Job progress photos Mayor Burton asked when a tour could be scheduled for the Board. Mike Williams indicated there will be a tour sometime in the summer. D. Budget Presentation—Brian Butler, Chief Financial Officer Brian Butler, Chief Financial Officer,presented the Fiscal Year 2023 Budget(presentation on file.) Main points included were: 2 Airport Advisory Board Meeting Minutes 16 March 2022 • Budget Goals and Objectives—Budget Drivers o Enplaned Passenger Traffic o Income Statement Forecast o Original vs. Revised Budgets o Comparison of Airline Revenues o Comparison of Concession Revenues o Costs Per Enplaned Passenger(CPE) o Original vs. Revised Capital Equipment Budgets • New Capital Improvement Projects Cyndy Miller inquired to the increase in intergovernmental charges. Brian Butler explained how a large portion of this number is increases to Police and Fire approved by City Council last year. John Bradshaw ask does SLC compare to other airport in per passenger costs. Bill Wyatt responded in the past, SLC was a bargain. We are still well below average. Mayor Burton inquired to a separate budget for SVA. Brian Butler answered that this is a consolidated budget but can provide a separate break-down for SVA. Cyndy Miller reminded everyone that this budget is for an"airport system not for three separate airports. E. Call for Motion to Approve the Budget—Steve Price Steve Price called for a motion for a vote for approval of FY2023 Budget. Upon a motion by Cyndy Miller and seconded by Arlyn Bradshaw, the board approved the FY2023 Budget and supports its presentation to the Mayor and City Council for acceptance. All votes were affirmative. THE NEWSROOM SIC yaw, Fun Facts : Quarterly Cleaning of The Canyon \ \ \ \ \ No doubt the new airport has presented some new challenges when it comes to cleaning. Here's how airport maintenance is keeping The Canyon artwork fins from becoming dingy. Each fin takes about 20 minutes to clean. Two employees are secured in a lift and are able to position it to service 2-3 fins at a time. Each fin is cleaned by a vacuum with HEPA filters. Any spotting that is not able to be removed with the vacuum is wiped with a magic eraser. Various vacuum heads have been tested for cleaning the fins. A shorter vacuum head is easier to move around the contour of the fins. The heads are placed on a lightweight extension pole. Most of the cleaning has involved dust from the construction as well as the addition of tenant spaces. The team recently worked Sunday through Thursday from 9:00 p.m. to 5:30am cleaning 15-20 fins per night. Page III 4/12/2022 CONSTRUCTION REPORT CONSTRUCTION (1) North Cargo Apron Site Development-The Contractor continues to make progress on the roadway and apron site base material, prepping for paving. This last week included moving into Phase 4,the capture of Taxiway B from A7 to A 10. That will allow the connection to the main line storm drain, the relocation of the glycol recovery transmission line, as well as to prepare for the eventual connection of the new cargo taxi lane into Taxiway B. (2) Pump House No. 5 Renovations - The Contractor is currently working on the badging process and submittals. Due to the long lead time on the equipment, construction will not begin until the end of June, 2022. (3) GA Zone 3 Corporate Hangar Site Development- The Contractor has completed the demolition of the T-hangar building. Utility work and excavation to prepare for paving the apron and taxi lane near the new hangar site is on-going. (4) Landside Lighting Wire Replacement-The Contractor was issued a construction notice to proceed on April 11, 2022. Mobilization will take place this week and the Contractor will begin capturing stalls in the economy parking lot. Wire replacement will begin in late April after the arrival of the wire. (5) Gateway Building Restroom Renovations - The Contractor was issued a notice to proceed on March 22, 2022. Permit documents have been submitted to Salt Lake City Building Department and are currently in plan check. The building permit is anticipated to be issued the week of April 25, 2022. At that time, the Contractor will establish a construction schedule for the project. (6) TVY Runway and Taxiway Rehabilitation - The bid opening for this project was held on March 17, 2022. The apparent low bidder is Granite Construction. Contract documents are currently being prepared.
