Call to Order and Welcome Guests Susan Rickman, Chair of the Board, called the meeting to order at 5:35pm. No guests were present. II. Approve Board Meeting Minutes - June 2022 Ms. Annie Dayton motioned to approve the June 2022 meeting minutes and Ms. Josanne Glass seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. III. Management A. Program/Administrative Updates 1. Staff member Dawn Borchardt was unable to present the Living Traditions Festival report due to illness, so she will present that report, as well as the Busker Fest report, at the August meeting. 2. Twilight Concert Series' first concert was canceled by band Rainbow Kitten Surprise citing mental health concerns. Ticket holders were refunded or offered a ticket to an additional Twilight Concert series concert, to be held in September. Details and announcement to follow. 3. Mondays in the Park Concert Series starts in August and will be held at the Liberty Park Chase Home Museum, featuring artists who were a part of the Living Traditions Festival. 4. The public art installation by Jiyoun Lee-Lodge will be installed at the new TRAX station at 600 South Main Street in Salt Lake City next week. 5. Mr. Knuth gave a presentation on the Arts Council staff progress on the strategic plan goals, over the last six months, and showed that reporting and tracking information on projects is done using AirTable software. 6. Hiring Updates - The Arts Council received 59 applicants for the Visual Arts Coordinator position and 6 applicants for the part-time Marketing Coordinator position. Applications are being reviewed. IV. Review of Financials Mr. Newhouse will be trained as the new Treasurer of the Arts Council Board. There is no new financial information to report outside of the reports provided after the FY end projections in the last meeting. The organization will be audited beginning in August of this year. V. Board A. Ms. Montoya presented the Open Meetings Training, required for all public bodies, for Arts Council board and staff members. B. Committee Needs and Vacancies Ms. Baca reported that the Arts Council Board is in need of a new member for the Nominating and Governance Committee. C. Community Grant Program Mr. Anderson and Ms. Rigby presented information about the Community Grant Program that has been created by the City of Salt Lake using American Rescue Plan Act funds from the federal government. D. Housing Affordability Letter Ms. Dayton motioned to approve sending this letter from the board to the mayor and city council. Mr. Newhouse seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. VI. Arts Events Discussion Ms. Dayton attended the Utah Arts Festival. Ms. Rickman attended the Red Butte Concert Series. VI I. Other Business No other business was presented to the board. Ms. Dayton motioned to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Ms. Longoria. The meeting was adjourned at 7:01 pm.
