Dear Mayor Mendenhall,
The Nominating Committee for the Arts Council Board of Directors is recommending the
reappointment of two board members who have serve diligently and dutifully during their first term.
We would like to bring these two board members forward for your approval and the subsequent
approval of the City Council to serve a second term. The board member’s names are Torle Nenbee
(District 1) and Kathy Davis (District 6). The candidates’ applications and resumes are attached to this
letter.
Torle brings with her a career of public service, presently working for the Salt Lake Legal Defenders.
During her service on the Arts Council Board, Torle has been critical in starting and sustaining our
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion work, and has served on our Grants Committee, among other
accomplishments. Kathy is also a dedicated public servant who has exemplified a commitment to
community service and has made great contributions to the artistic and cultural vibrancy of our
community. Professionally, Kathy is an Attorney for the State of Utah.
To say that we are elated with the quality and tenure of our recommendations for reappointment to you
would be an understatement.
We appreciate your consideration in forwarding these board reappointments to the City Council, and
we will continue to bring strong candidates to your attention as we review them.
Thank you, as always, for your ongoing support of the Arts Council.
Sincerely,
Susan Rickman
