RECOMMENDATION: The Administration recommends the Council appoint the following to
the Community Recovery Committee:
Esther Stowell, serving on Human Rights Commission since 7/14/20
Jason Wessel, serving on Human Rights Commission since 6/14/16
Tanya Hawkins, serving on Racial Equity in Policing Commission since 9/14/21
Steve Anjewierden, serving on Racial Equity in Policing Commission since 9/14/21
Pook Carson, serving on Business Advisory Board since 5/4/22
Jacob Maxwell, serving on Economic Development Loan Fund Committee since 3/7/22
Sarah Longoria, serving on Arts Council since 9/7/22

Earlier this year, the City Council approved the Community Recovery Committee (CRC) as a new City board
intended to evaluate and make recommendations regarding the Community Recovery Grant applications.
This board will be subject to the Open and Public Meetings Act and all transparency requirements for City
boards and commissions. The CRC includes members from already-existing City boards and commissions
including the Human Rights Commission, the Business Advisory Board, the Commission on Racial Equity in
Policing, the Economic Development Loan Fund Committee, and, if City Council approves the currently
pending ordinance update, the Arts Council. The CRC will make grant recommendations to the Mayor, which
will then go to the City Council for final approval.
Each of the members recommended by the Mayor have previously been approved for board service by the
City Council.
