RE: Business Advisory Board Appointment Recommendation
Dear Mayor Mendenhall:
The Department of Economic Development would like to recommend Pook Carson, owner of Patrick 402
Partners LLC, for a member position on the Business Advisory Board. Pook represents a voice for the small
business community located in the West Downtown area that we currently do not have representation on
the BAB. Pook has been involved in the business community as a professor in the Business School at Salt
Lake Community College. Additionally, she holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Utah. She is
excited to offer her skills and resource to aid in the development of the business community especially as
businesses continue to recover from the incredible impacts of COVID. Finally, Pook brings as unique,
diverse perspective to the BAB as she is originally from Thailand and her family business background there
is in the steal and construction industries. She strongly believes she can provide special support to
traditionally underserved, minority-owned businesses and entrepreneurs in the Salt Lake City Community.
She is willing to give extra time on the Board to attend City Council meetings and understand what issues
coming through the Council may impact the business community and will lend her voice in relevant public
meetings.
We strongly support Pook’s application to the Business Advisory Board. Please find enclosed her
application and resume. Please feel free to reach out if you have any further questions.
Sincerely,
Roberta Reichgelt
Director of Business Development
