What is a typical employee's term of employment(either in hrs./months/years)?Are we to interpret the $1oi9/per person as the salary of the employee?Or are there additional funding streams that factor into the employees"salaries? Brad: The application says 70%of employees are successful in maintaining employment or moving on to other employment.Is that accurate?What percentage move on to new positions or into full-time employment at Advantage,versus those who maintain part-time jobs? What is the compensation for executives at the agency?The 990 has those staff listed at$o. #2.Boys&Girls Clubs of Greater Salt Lake-Behavioral Health&Build Community Resiliency Program CDBG Public Services Description: Boys&Girls Clubs of Greater Salt Lake supports the development of resilient kids and teens by offering trauma-informed care and services that support their mental and emotional health.The Social-Emotional Learning(SEL)Program provide services to the most diverse and vulnerable youth in the community.The program is designed to help youth build resiliency by providing immediate access to mental health support including individual counseling from certified therapists,substance abuse prevention,dating violence prevention,and social-emotional programming. Funding will cover 2 Site Director positions at 5%of FTE salary,plus 18%of benefits,4 Program Director positions at io%FTE salary plus 18%of benefits,4 Program Staff working 5hrs/week @ $18/hr for 50 weeks plus 8.5%benefits,Licensed Therapist at$9o/hr to provide 3o hours of counseling for 60 sessions totaling$iio/session,program supplies,and fuel costs for vehicles to transport youth from school to site location. I am a little unclear about this request as a cohesive"project."There is mention of a waitlist for programs, are we talking specifically about the"Behavioral Health and Build Community Resiliency Program?"Does the program exist independent of the other services offered by BGCGSL? it's a little unclear what direct role the site,teen and juniors directors and the teen and juniors staff will have in the project,although training and support for staff implementing services are mentioned. Could I get a little more info about the roles of the directors and staff as they relate to the project outcomes? Catholic Community Services of Utah-Chef Trainer at CCS Kitchen Academy CDBG Public Services Description:The Kitchen Academy workforce development program is based in the St.Vincent de Paul Dining Hall.This fourteen-week program helps people build employable skills,obtain professional certifications,and exit the program into food-service jobs that pay a living wage after graduation.Case management is provided for one year after graduation,helping clients stay employed,move into permanent housing,and advance in their career.This project has two key staff members,the Chef Trainer and the Employment/Life Skills Coordinator. Funding would go towards salaries/benefits of the Employment/Life Skills Coordinator. Requesting: $50,000.00 Beneficiaries: 30(same program,same beneficiaries) Board Questions: Jenny: Given that the program beneficiaries will be the same as the other application,should the applications have been combined?If not,will the program outcomes change if only one of the two applications are funded? Kerry Reached Out prior to the meeting for clarification.Both#3 and#4 from CCS are the same project, but different positions.The 3o anticipated beneficiaries are the same individuals for both applications. #5.The Children's Center Utah-Therapeutic Preschool Program CDBG Public Services Description:The Therapeutic Preschool Program addresses the critical need for comprehensive mental health services for low-income children birth through six.The program provides an initial mental health consultation to establish clinical need and eligibility for the program;year-round,5 day/week group therapy with roundtrip transportation for children with the most acute mental health needs; and ongoing outpatient child/caregiver psychotherapy.Children are evaluated using the Devereux Early Childhood Assessment(DECA)upon intake,every 90 days,and upon discharge.Results from each assessment inform treatment.On average,children return to or enter traditional group settings within i year. Funding will go towards staff salaries/benefits,and program supplies. Community Development Corporation of Utah-Housing Counseling CDBG Public Services Description:As part of the program,clients attend group classes in Credit and Budgeting and have two sessions of individual counseling with one of CDCU's HUD-certified housing counselors.They will set a personal financial goal in their first session and report back on their progress in meeting their goal in their second session.Home buyers will take an online Home Buyer Education course and will then receive pre- purchase counseling from one of CDCU's housing counselors.Income eligible clients may apply for down payment assistance.They will be helped to obtain a mortgage and will be guided through the home- buying process.Further counseling,including foreclosure mitigation counseling,will be available as needed at any time after the home purchase. Funding will go towards staff salaries and benefits as well as direct program support costs such as outreach,supplies,and staff mileage. Requesting: $55,000.00 Beneficiaries: ioo Board Questions: #7.First Step House-Employment Preparation and Placement CDBG Public Services Description:The Employment Preparation and Placement Program is an evidence-based approach to improving employment and income outcomes for individuals in SUD(substance use disorder)treatment programs and housing at FSH.The goal is to increase long-term employment and financial stability for a population that faces many barriers to stable employment.Employment specialists provide intensive job coaching and help each program participant create a vocational profile and enroll in an employment track that fits their unique needs,skills,experiences,interests,and goals.Additionally,Employment specialists build relationships with employers in the community and host job fairs to bridge interactions between employers and FSH clients. Stable employment increases the likelihood that clients will maintain stability after behavioral health treatment and reduces the risk of returning to homelessness. Funding will cover staff salaries/benefits and administrative costs. Requesting: $50,000.00 Beneficiaries: 150 Board Questions: #8.First Step House-Peer Support Services CDBG Public Services Description:The Peer Support Services(PSS)Program provides ongoing support from peer support specialists in residential SUD(substance use disorder)treatment.Specialists help clients complete a Wellness Recovery Action Plan during orientation,individually coach clients in their health and recovery goals,and lead life skills classes.They also transport clients to recovery community gatherings including Warrior Strength and Fit to Recover where clients exercise and take life skills classes.FSH created partnerships for clients to participate in community service activities,including Gardner Village and Utah Naloxone.Peer support specialists model coping skills,assist with de-escalation and intervention,and foster a culture of social support,hope,self-acceptance,and engagement during treatment. Funding will cover staff salaries/benefits and administrative costs. Requesting: $ 8o,000.00 Beneficiaries: 500 Board Questions: Jenny Bonk: The outcomes were clearly outlined;well done. #9.Friends of Switchpoint,Inc-Airport Permanently Supportive Case Management Program CDBG Public Services Description:This project will provide 94 deeply affordable housing units to literal homeless seniors and veterans age 55+,who are living on an extremely low fixed incomes of 40%AMI and below.This project will further provide permanently supportive case management to assist these individuals,most presenting with severe barriers,in retaining housing and decreasing the number of returns to homelessness.The onsite case management will also address building community resiliency and expand opportunity and self-sufficiency by assisting recently homeless clients increase their source of incomes and food insecurities through streamline benefits,employment opportunities,access to the facility's onsite food pantry/meal program,and access to physical and behavioral health services. Funding will cover 4 FTE Case Manager Salaries/benefits and administrative costs. Do both projects exclusively serve seniors? #ii.International Rescue Committee-Digital Inclusion to increase economic stability for Refugees CDBG Public Services Description:The DI(Digital Inclusion)Program will expand ongoing CDBG-supported efforts to provide DI support and training to newly arrived R&NAs(Refugees and New Americans)in SLC.The program will continue basic and intermediate DI training for newly arrived R&NAs.The program will continue integrating DI efforts across IRC SLC programs including working with small business,job readiness,and financial literacy.Broadly,the DI program will provide newly resettled refugees foundational digital skills training and device distribution,including an initial Digital Capabilities Assessment,a smartphone with a data plan,one laptop per household,and affordable internet access.To ensure all R&NAs utilize these digital tools,the DI program will facilitate in-language,ongoing technical support,and digital literacy training via"Tech Squad"volunteers who provide one-on-one technical support.Monthly intermediate DI skills classes will focus on digital job readiness and telehealth to ensure R&NAs can navigate vital resources. Funding will cover a portion of salaries/benefits,staff mileage,supplies,operations costs,and administrative costs. How many client laptops will be purchased with the funds? #12.Legal Aid Society of Salt Lake-Domestic Violence Victim Assistance Program and Bridge the Gap Program CDBG Public Services Description:The Domestic Violence Victim Assistance(DWA)Program provides legal representation to approximately 3,000 victims of domestic violence annually to obtain a civil protective order against their abusers in cohabitant or dating relationships.The DVVA Program targets all victims of domestic violence regardless of gender,age,sexual orientation or identity or income to have legal representation to obtain a civil protective order or a stalking injunction against their abuser. The Bridge the Gap program literally bridges the gap between the DWA and the Domestic Relations Program.The BTG program enables victims of domestic violence with a protective order to obtain expediated assistance with a divorce or parentage case. Funding will cover 1 Paralegal salary/benefits. Odyssey House-Inc,Utah-Bus Passes CDBG Public Services Description:This project aims to help remove barriers to stability for clients at Odyssey House by providing bus passes to low-income clients and clients in the Harm Reduction Program. Odyssey House spends over$9o,000 on bus passes annually. J #14.Odyssey House-Inc,Utah-Transitional Housing CDBG Public Services Description:The Transitional Housing program aims to provide stable housing for clients as they transition from residential treatment to transitional housing and ensure sustained success in recovery. The transitional housing program served 224 people in FY23,and at least 50 of those clients needed rental assistance at some point.Outcomes are achieved through teaching life skills,rental assistance, community partnerships,house meetings,recreational activities,budgeting,and case-management support. Funding will go towards direct client assistance and administrative costs. Requesting: $ 150,000.00 Beneficiaries: 98 Board Questions:
