The board also helps direct City economic policy, promote small business growth, support local entrepreneurship, and assist the City in remaining responsive to the business community. Business Advisory Board meetings are held in a hybrid meeting format. Board Members and staff may participate through an online format, and members of the public may join in person at the City&County Building:451 South State Street, Room 118, Salt Lake City, UT 84111. Roll Call 2. Approval of the minutes a. Review and Approval of December 13th, 2023, BAB Minutes BAB members will review the December 13th meeting minutes and consider for approval. 3. Briefings by the Staff 10 minutes a. Role of the Business advisory Board Roberta Reichgelt will review the role and responsibilities of the Business Advisory Board to the Board. b. Salt Lake City Department of Economic Development Roberta Reichgelt will provide an overview of The Department of Economic Development roles and organization. 4. Business Items a. Introduction of local business owner, Rita Magalde, Sheer Ambrosia 5 minutes Rita Magalde will introduce herself and Sheer Ambrosia to the Board. b. Salt Lake City 2023 Event Permits Summary 15 minutes Ryen Schlegel will present an overview of Events Permits in 2023 to the Board. c. Building Services and Economic Development Liaison 15 minutes Jim McCormack will present the role of the ombudsman and challenges faced by small business owners in the permitting process to the Board. d. SLC Community Grant Program—December 2023 Awardees 0 minutes Todd Anderson provided a list in the packet 'of the Community Grant Program phase 2 recipients to the Board. 5. City Council Announcements 5 minutes a. Landscaping and buffers text amendment. b. Proposed zoning updates for daycare facilities. c. 2024 Utah State Legislative Session. 6. BAB Member Announcements a. Reminder of the importance of BAB member announcements. 5 minutes Board Chair Andy Robertson will remind the Board of the importance of BAB member announcements and encourage Board members to submit any announcements for the agenda. b. Introduction and welcome of new Board members. 10 minutes Board Chair Andy Robertson will introduce new Board members Sheridan Mordue, District 5, and Barri Allaire, District 6. c. Recognition of former Chair Jeff Carleton. 5 minutes Board Chair Andy Robertson will recognize former Chair Jeff Carleton on behalf of the Board and the City for his time and efforts as Board Chair.
