Emily Khan to be appointed for a four year term starting from date of City Council advice and consent and ending on Monday, December 28, 2028. We believe that Emily will bring another unique and necessary perspective to the commission. Emily identifies as part of the Indigenous/Native American community, which is a population that the Commission could strengthen their relationships with. She also brings forth a robust background in education with a wide range of experiences in various communities across different states working to serve students from Pre-K to 12th grade. In addition to her various roles in schools, Emily has also worked as a consultant and independent contractor to work on projects related to educational needs or professional development for schools and organizations. In align with the Commission’s work, Emily has demonstrated her commitment to equity and inclusivity by facilitating presentations on related topics for several conferences and various trainings.
