Call to Order and Welcome Guests Ms. Koles-Rickman called the meeting to order and welcomed our guests Tracy Tran. H.Arts Event Discussion 5:30-5:35 Ms. Koles-Rickman then led a discussion of public art attendance by Board members. II.Approve Board Meeting Minutes —May 2024(Action)5:35-5:36 Matthew Coles makes a motion to approve. Kathy Davis seconds. Travis English and Sarah Longoria abstain. MISSION: To promote,present and support artists and arts organizations in order to facilitate the development of the arts and expand awareness, access, and engagement. SALT LAKE CITY ARTI S The rest of the Board voted in favor to approve the minutes. III.Management 5:37 A. Program/Administrative Updates i. Program Updates-Felicia Baca 5:37-5:45 Ms. Baca provided an overview of programming including a new exhibition at Finch Lane including flash projects,gallery stroll, acoustic strolls, a major restoration project of an underpass, and liberty park resurfacing.The Assistant Director search is still underway.The SEG project is underway with UMOCA and Abravanel Hall being hopeful that their facilities will be preserved, "or [will be]provide[d] adequate replacement." ii. Redevelopment Agency Housing Presentation-Tracy Tran 5:45-6:05 Tracy Tran then presents the work the SLC RDA is doing to increase housing affordability and public art. iii.Wake the Great Salt Lake Grants Presentation 6:05-6:20 Ms. Baca thanks Ms.Tran for her presentation and invites Susan Campbell to present on the Wake the Great Salt Lake Grants.This was a process that began in 2022 and will include activations throughout Salt Lake City. IV. Budget/Financial A. Review of Financials —Caitlin Tursic 6:20-6:25 Ms.Tursic provided a review of the unreconciled financials and concluded they are in good standing. B. FY25 Proposed Budget(Action)- Felicia Baca 6:25-6:40 Ms. Rickman invites Ms. Baca to present on the FY25 Proposed Budget.Ms. Baca notes the increase due to inflation. Ms.Taylor moves to approve the budget amendment. Mr. Coles seconds. The Board votes unanimously in favor of the budget amendment. V. Board A. Officer&Committee Nominations (Action) 6:40-6:50 Ms. Koles-Rickman presents the slate of officers in which Katherine Potter is removed from at-large. Mr. Driggs makes a motion to approve the slate of officers. Ms.Jarmin-Gates seconds. The board votes unanimously in favor. No motion is made. Ms. Koles-Rickman asks for a vote on whether to have Sarah Longoria serve on the Grants Committee. SALT LAKE CITY ARTI S The vote is unanimous in favor. B.Whistleblower Policy(Action)6:50-6:55 Mr. Driggs makes the motion to adopt the Whistleblower Policy Mr. English seconds. The board votes unanimously in favor to adopt the Whistleblower Policy VI. Public Comment 6:55 Ms. Baca invites the public to comment. One member of the public and a Wake the Great Salt Lake applicant,Jay Rock,thanked the team for the opportunity to apply and their time and wished the chosen projects well. VII. Other Business The Salt Lake City Arts Council Board reserves the right to act on any agenda items. Ms.Nielsen moves to adjourn the meeting. Ms.Taylor seconds. The meeting is adjourned.
