RECOMMENDATION: The Administration recommends the Council consider the
recommendation in the attached letter from the Mayor and appoint Mccall Christensen as a member
of the Board Appointment Recommendation: Planning Commission.

Planning has reviewed applications and interviewed the following individuals who recently
applied to the Mayor’s Office to be on the Planning Commission. This memo provides
snapshot info about the commission following a review of a candidate we recommend you put
forward to the City Council for appointment. If the Mayor’s office would like to explore more
applicants for the Planning Commission, please reach out to Michaela Oktay and we will re-
engage the public accordingly.

o Professional Qualifications: Master’s degree in Metropolitan Planning and
Public Policy
Planning Division remarks: Expertise in urban policy and health equity and a Board
Member for SL Neighbors for more Neighbors, and advocacy group leading out on housing
reform. She also has a background in public health which could add to land use discussions.
McCall also has a MA in Planning and has a stated desire to promote growth, sustainability
and economic development.
