RE: Business Advisory Board Appointment Recommendation
Dear Mayor Mendenhall:
The Department of Economic Development (DED) would like to recommend the reappointment of
Alfonso Brito, owner of Santo Taco and Monarca, for a voting position on the Business Advisory Board
(BAB). His current commission expired on December 30, 2024. Alfonso has brought incredible experience
and knowledge to the BAB over the past 4 years. Alfonso’s insights as a representative from the immigrant
entrepreneurship community in the food and beverage industry have been particularly insightful and helpful
to the Board. His experience is crucial to the work and policy recommendations from the Board. His
participation on the Board supports the efforts of the Economic Development Department and Mayor’s
goals to better engage and empower the City’s citizen advisory boards to weigh in on projects and present
ideas.
Alfonso is willing to give extra time on the Board to attend City Council meetings and will lend his voice
in relevant public meetings.
DED strongly supports Alfonso’s application to the Business Advisory Board. Please find enclosed his
application. Please feel free to reach out if you have any further questions.
Sincerely,
Will Wright
