RECOMMENDATION: The Administration recommends the Council consider the
recommendation in the attached letter from the Mayor and appoint Alyn Toalepai a member of the
Board Appointment Recommendation: Business Advisory Board.

Listed below is my recommendation for the membership appointment for the Board
Appointment Recommendation: Business Advisory Board.
Alyn Toalepai to be appointed for a four year term starting from date of City Council advice and
consent and ending on Monday, December 31, 2029. I respectfully ask for your consideration
and support for this appointment.

Dear Mayor Mendenhall:
The Department of Economic Development (DED) would like to recommend Alyn Toalepai, Co-Owner of
Koko Creations, President of the Utah Pacific Island Chamber of Commerce, and Director of Operations for
the Polynesian Pickleball Club, for an ex officio position on the Business Advisory Board. Alyn has been a
tireless advocate for the Pacific Islander and local business community and a valued partner of the
Department of Economic Development.
Alyn is willing to dedicate his time and talent to the Business Advisory Board and lend his voice to issues
impacting the business community.
DED strongly supports Alyn ’s application to the Business Advisory Board. Please find enclosed his
