HomeMy WebLinkAbout10/24/2024 - Meeting Materials Accessibility and Disability Commission Salt Lake City Utah Regular Meeting Agenda 24 October 2024 3:00 PM This meeting is a discussion among Commissioners and select presenters. The public is welcome. Items scheduled may be moved or discussed during a different portion of the meeting based on circumstances or availability of speakers. This meeting will be in person. The meeting will be at the City and County Building in Room 336 (451 S State St., Salt Lake City, UT 84111). Public Meeting Rules: The Commission's meetings are a place for people to feel safe and comfortable participating in their government. A respectful and safe environment allows a meeting to be conducted in an orderly, efficient, effective, and dignified fashion, free from distraction, intimidation, and threats to safety. A closed meeting described under Section 52-4-205 may be held for specific purposes including, but not limited to: a. discussion of the character, professional competence, or physical or mental health of an individual; b. strategy sessions to discuss pending or reasonably imminent litigation; c. discussion regarding deployment of security personnel, devices, or systems; and d. investigative proceedings regarding allegations of criminal misconduct. A closed meeting may also be held for lawful purposes that satisfy the pertinent requirements of the Utah Open and Public Meetings Act. Commissioner Lobato shared details on upcoming events for the Department of Workforce Services. Motion to Approve Minutes By Everette Bacon Second to Approve Minutes By Pamela Mower Agenda Item 1: Salt Lake County Human Services, Homelessness, and Criminal Justice Action Plan Brad Townley, Sr Advisor, and Katherine Fife,Associate Deputy Mayor, presented details on the Salt Lake County Public Safety Bond.The update included collaborations that have taken place in the creation of the bond, as well as data, and cost breakdown for the facilities presented on during the meeting.The commissioners provided recommendations and asked questions about the plan's impact on people with disabilities. Agenda Item 2: Commission Administrative Updates Ashley Lichtle, ADA Coordinator provided updates on commissioners serving terms. Ashley Lichtle provided feedback received from the commission attorney on commission recommendations. Current Events in Accessibility and Disability Item not held.
