Call to Order and Welcome Guests&Introductions Ms.Nenbee calls the meeting to order and welcomes the guests and members. II. Mission Moment(Future events&SLC worthy recognition) Several board members attended Sundance events and films, an Off-Broadway Theater event.Weber State Storytelling Festival is coming up. III. Approve Meeting Minutes (Action) a. December 2024 b. January 2024 The Board votes to approve meeting minutes from December and January's board meetings. Each month was voted on separately. The motions pass unanimously. IV. Management Twilight: The season is fully booked.We are excited that there is a Grammy winner and Grammy nominee in the mix. We will be hosting 3 concerts at Gallivan and 3 at Library Square. Ticket prices increased to average$20 per show this year to help cover increased costs. We heard we would have a 20%cost increase at Gallivan but now confirmed 5%increase. Full show line up coming in the next few weeks. Living Traditions:All staff is hired and the team is in the busy preparation season. NEA Grant: Our existing grant 2025 $30,000 will still be awarded. The 2026 application was cancelled,deadline moved, and guidelines revised. We were told the federal government will not be funding Diversity Equity or Inclusion. Team is monitoring and will provide updates as we receive them. Safety&Security:The team is meeting with the head of safety and security at the city to be aware and informed about rights of our staff, attendees,vendors,artists etc. Wake: Upcoming walking tour and larger stakeholder meeting coming March 6th to discuss signature commission. Public Art: Walking tour for Life on State Neon light tour next Monday. Finch Lane: Excited that a National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts(NCECA)event will be held at the Art Barn in the coming weeks. This is a nationally recognized conference for ceramics. Busker: Busker fest will be held the last weekend in May.This is a slight change from last year. Artist in the Classroom: Grants open,spread word and encourage applicable network to apply. Staff. Recognizing Wendy on her io-year anniversary and Lindsey with 3-year anniversary with city. V. Budget/Financial • We had a few sponsorships for Living Traditions come in. • Large expense for travel for Wake the Great Salt Lake artist. • Budget amendment coming in the coming months. • Overall,the financials are in good standing. VI. Board a. Board Nominations (Action): Matthew Coles i. Ryan Canter(134):A physician and community leader with expertise in healthcare, education, and cultural engagement. Passionate about connecting arts, science, and the community. ii. Ignacio (Iggy) Rosenberg (D6): A Visual Designer with 20+years of international experience in live entertainment, large-scale artistic displays, and event production. Committed to expanding public art, celebrating diversity, and integrating sustainable, interactive experiences in Salt Lake City. iii. Eugenie Hero Jaffe (D6): An arts and media professional with extensive experience in broadcasting, cultural programming, and community engagement. As a KRCL 90.9FM host and producer, she champions local music, arts, and community connections. Motion: Mr. Coles moved to approve all three nominees. Second: Mr. Sandoval seconded. Vote: Motion passed unanimously. VII. Other Business Breaking Barriers/Accessibility Presentation Presented by: Board Member Gabriella Huggins and Jason Bowcutt, Community Programs & Performing Arts Manager at Utah Division of Arts&Museums. Breaking Barriers Program: Training initiative focused on educating individuals and organizations on disability awareness,inclusive communication,workplace accommodations, and accessible design. The aim of the program is to promote equal opportunities and foster a more inclusive society. After the presentation the meeting attendees participated in a tour of the Art Barn and options to make it more accessible. VIII. Public Comment No public comment. IX. Adjournment Motion: Mr. Coles moved to adjourn the meeting. Second: Ms. Martinez seconded. Vote: Motion passed unanimously.
