RE: Reappointment of Michael Mejia to the Salt Lake Art Design Board
Attached is an application from Mr. Michael Mejia for reappointment to the Salt Lake Art
Design Board. Since his appointment, he has been a strong contributing member of the
Board. Throughout his tenure, he has actively participated in program planning, site
selection, artist selection processes, and other oversight activities of Salt Lake City’s
Public Art Program. His colleagues on the Art Design Board, as well as Arts Council staff,
recommend a positive response to his application for reappointment.
Mr. Mejia is a resident of Council District 4 and has served on the Art Design Board since
January 2022. If reappointed, he will continue to serve in the capacity of Community
Member, as required in Ordinance 2.30.
If, for any reason, Mayor Mendenhall finds Mr. Mejia unfit to serve, the Board can solicit
and review additional applicants. His application has been attached for your reference.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
Renato Olmedo-González
Public Art Program Manager
