AGENDA
I. Call to Order and Welcome Guests&Introductions
Ms. Rickman calls the meeting to order and introduces new and current board members. New
members include: Ryan Canter, Eugenie Jaffe, Ignacios (Iggy) Rosenberg. The meeting attendees took
part in a brief get-to-know you activity.
II. Mission Moment(Future events&SLC worthy recognition)
The board discussed the latest arts&culture events they have attended around the city and look
forward to attending in the future. The Arts Council staff also reminded the board about the
spreadsheet created to track upcoming arts council events and what other board members would be
attending.
III. Approve Board Meeting Minutes —March 2025 (Action)
Ms. Koles-Rickman moved to approve the minutes of the March meeting.The motion was carried
unanimously.
IV. Management
Program/Administrative Updates -Felicia Baca
i. General Program Management Updates
MISSION: To promote,present and support artists and arts organizations in order to facilitate the development of the
arts and expand awareness, access, and engagement.
a. Ms. Baca reports that the Arts Council is busy with budget planning,both for a FY25
budget amendment and planning for FY26. Living Traditions is around the corner—
unfortunately it conflicts with Kilby Block party so we may see an impact to attendance,
but planning is going well and looking forward to the festival. Twilight concert series
sales are going well and partners feel good about status. Wake the Great Salt Lake
project hosted an event at Fisher Brewery for the"Hope Line"a phone booth where you
can leave stories about the Great Salt Lake. Westside/Glendale public art project artist
Matthew Mazzotta will be hosting"living room"sessions for community feedback in the
coming weeks. The Blocks released a program called"Co-Create"that activates various
artistic disciplines downtown; Brittany Helmers doing an excellent job managing the
Blocks program.
IV.Budget/Financials
a. Review of Financials: Caitlin Tursic
i. Ms.Tursic provided a review of the financials —we received a few donations for the Wake
the Great Salt Lake project. The contract for Busker Fest was paid to Primrose
Productions and we saw an increase in Salaries&Wages due to hiring of seasonal Living
Traditions staff. Overall financials are in good standing.
b. Budget Amendment Overview(in preparation for budget amendments next month).
i. Ms. Baca provided an overview of budget amendment changes that will be voted on in
next month's meeting.
V. Board
a. Utah Cultural Alliance Introduction&Advocacy 10 1-Annie DiMartino: Director
i. Ms. DiMartino gave a presentation on the Utah Cultural Alliance,their mission and
vision,where they have come from and where they are going and the importance of
advocacy. An overview of the federal landscape impacting arts&cultural organizations
around the country including the Institute of Museums and Libraries and the National
Endowment for the Humanities was also provided.
b. Discuss Committee Vacancies/Nominations
i. Looking for nominations for Chair,Vice Chair, Secretary and Grants Committee.Also
open for new members who represent districts 1&2.

No other business is discussed
Ms. Taylor moved to close the meeting,Mr. Driggs seconds, all in favor. The motion passes
unanimously.The meeting is adjourned.
