HomeMy WebLinkAbout06/09/2025 - Meeting Minutes SALT LAKE CITY JOINT TRANSPORTATION ADVISORY BOARD &BICYCLE ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING Minutes of the June 9, 2025 Meeting TAB Members present were Daniel Mendoza, Jon Larsen, Matt Gray, and Lt. Steve Wooldridge. TAB Members electronically present were Ari Tepper, Justice Morath, Kelbe Goupil, Miranda Bradshaw, Suzanne Stensaas, and Turner Bitton. TAB Members absent were Craig Buschmann, Isaac Astill, John Close, Josh Stewart, and Julie Bjornstad. BAC Members present were Esther Daranciang, Matthew Morriss, Martin Cuma, Maxwell Hoagland, Rebecca Bauer, and Sarah Johnson. BAC Members electronically present were Alla Chernenko and Greta Sommerfeld. BAC Members absent were Ben Trueman, Jeannie Rollo, Kerry Doane, Laura Lewis, and William Davis. Also present were Becka Roolf and Julianne Sabula. Also electronically present were Amy Lyons, Ben Luedtke, Henrique Cruz, Liz Buehler, Rachel Molinari, Mary Beth Thompson, and Tyler Laing. The meeting was held electronically and was called to order at 6:13 p.m. by Sarah Johnson. Welcome and Member Introductions — Sarah welcomed everyone. Members, staff, and guests introduced themselves. Public Comment — There were no members of the public. Update on FY26 Capital Improvement Program (CIP)Applications The FY26 CIP application and FY26 Constituent CIP application rankings were reviewed as well as the Mayor's recommendations on those projects. Those applications are now with the City Council who will make the final decision on funding. There is still an opportunity for both the TAB and BAC to give input to the City Council,but since both groups had previously written letters, no additional input will be given. No action was taken. Draft list of FY27 CIP Applications The draft list of FY27 applications was reviewed and Becka asked for input from the group as far as missing categories or other items they think should be included in this list. Some suggestions are listed below. Pagel of 3 TAB/BAC 06-09-2025 Minutes • Increasing Livable Streets Funding • Bike Paths • 300 South &Jordan River Parkway paving • E-Bike Infrastructure • Bicycle Lane Maintenance • North Temple Bridge • California Avenue (west of Redwood Road) &Jordan River Trail Crossings • Intersection and Driveway Improvements to recent bikeways including 300 West No action was taken. io-Year Capital Improvement Plan Transportation is collaborating with the Engineering Division and has been asked to provide information in terms of a list of capital projects to be funded through a systematic approach for the following programs. • Vision Zero Corridors &Safety Improvements Citywide • Street Reconstruction • Public Way Concrete • Alleyway Improvements • Bridge Preservation Program • Traffic Signal Replacements &Upgrades • Transit Capital Program/Funding Our Future Transit • Missing Sidewalks &Bikeway Network Gaps • Street Overlays • Livable Streets Program • EV Charging Stations Becka gave some details to this list and asked if the group had any thoughts about other things they might consider important. Trails and additional revenue streams for more project funding were suggested. Motion: Martin Cuma motioned to adjourn the meeting; Matt Gray seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
