MONDAY, NOVEMBER 25, 2024
Salt Lake City Foundation of Salt Lake City, Utah, met on Monday November 25, 2024,
in a Hybrid format.
The meeting began at 2:01 PM MST
Attendees: Mary Beth Thompson, Chairperson – Chief Financial Officer; Erin
Mendenhall, Trustee – Salt Lake City Mayor; Victoria Petro, Trustee – SLC
Councilperson District 1; Marina Scott, Secretary – City Treasurer
Staff in Attendance: Jayson Oldroyd – Senior City Attorney; Greg Clary – City Budget
Director; Nick Johnson – District Liaison/Policy Specialist; Thais Stewart – Deputy City

A. Call to Order.
Marina Scott called the meeting to order.
B. Salt Lake City Foundation purpose and mission.
Mary Beth Thompson provided a brief introduction to the board, outlining the
foundation’s mission and objectives.
C. Pending approval of minutes from the November 30th, 2023, meeting.
Motion to approve the minutes.
Motion by Erin Mendenhall.
Seconded by Victoria Petro.
The vote was unanimously approved.
D. Annual Open and Public Meetings Law training.
Jayson Oldroyd provided an overview of OPMA, including: proper meeting
notifications and procedures, guidelines for open and closed meetings, the process for
closing a meeting and required documentation, as well as the consequences of OPMA
violations.
E. Utah State Training Requirement.
Jason also discussed the mandatory training for board members, which must be
completed within six months of receiving the training materials.
F. Review of Financial Statements and FY 2023 Tax Return.
Marina presented the financial statements for the foundation’s fiscal year, summarizing
key financial activities. Erin requested clarification on certain line items, including the
category labeled “foundation.” Marina and Mary Beth provided an explanation and
addressed any concerns.

Motion to adjourn.
Motion by Erin Mendenhall.
Seconded by Victoria Petro.
The vote was unanimously approved.
