Minutes A motion was made by Theresa Foxley and John Bradshaw seconded by Roger Boyer to approve the minutes of March 16, 2022 as presented. All votes were affirmative; motion passed. Airport Advisory Board Meeting Minutes 19 April 2023 2 Introduction to our newest Board Member Hoang Nguyen who is the Co-founder of Sapa Investment Group Steve Price in @ 9:11. B. Director’s Report Bill Wyatt, Executive Director, updated the Airport Advisory Board regarding current events. • May 16th, 2023, we will begin opening the first five gates on A Concourse East. With that the Delta hard stand will begin to go away • October 31st, 2023, the entire A Concourse East will open, and the Delta hard stand will close • The bag handling system has performed remarkably well with our busy ski season • April 18th, we will take the Airport Budget to council, we are not anticipating any significant issues. We are proposing to construct additional employee parking • We are wrapping up documents for our next bond issues, we are targeting for mid-July • Our Airport Consultant has adjusted his forecast for volume to 3.5% per year. Through 2030 that puts us roughly at 32million annual passengers Steve Price asked about the cause of the Airline ticket pricing surge. Bill Wyatt explained there is pricing power, and cost pressure with fuel over $100 a barrel. It is a deregulated industry; we don’t expect that to continue because there are new entrants coming in. Arlyn Bradshaw inquired about the design of the front of house, asking is there’s expandable capacity built into the design. Wyatt said the capacity is measured at several different points. Mentioning the Airports robust roadways and the issues with parking. Going on to talk about a new construction project on level one that will open more options for screening. C. Airport Redevelopment Program (ARP) Update – Mike Williams, ARP Director, SLCDA Mike Williams, Airport Redevelopment Program (ARP) Director, presented an update on the ARP (presentation on file). Main points included were: • Safety, Statistics, and Schedule • Near Term Schedule Milestones o April 11, 2023, Concourse B East – Structural Steel Erection Topping-Out o April 18, 2023, Concourse A East – SIDA Sweep • Airport Redevelopment Program Overall Budget • Airport Redevelopment Program Trade Contractor Award Statistics • Concourse ‘A’ East/Central Tunnel/Airfield • Concourse ‘B’ East – 8 Gates (Phase 3) • Concourse ‘B’ East – 16 Gates (Phase 4) • Overall Phase 2, Phase 3, and Phase 4 Phased Delivery Airport Advisory Board Meeting Minutes 19 April 2023 3 • Landside Entrance/Exit Art Installations Roger Boyer inquired about the original general contractors asking if the original contractors are still being used. Mike Williams explained BigD and HDJV are still managing the buyout, getting prequalified trade contractors, and getting bids. Wyatt explained the SLCDA is very involved in the process, looking at every detail in weekly Cost Workshops. D. Cyber Security – Ed Cherry, Director of Information Technology Ed Cherry, Director of IT, SLCDA • Airport Cybersecurity o Protecting airport operations o Ensuring compliance with regulations • Types of Threats in Airports o Physical security breaches o Phishing o Distributed Denial of Services o Ransomware • Airport Case Study o Bristol Airport 2019 software attack. • Cybersecurity Challenges for Airports o Multiple networks and systems o Balance security with operations o Attacks to outside vendors. Airlines, baggage handling, and fuel systems Hoang Nguyen inquired about the actions the Airport is taking to protect passengers from getting their data stolen while inputting charging cord into the charging portals in the seating. Ed Cherry misunderstood the question. It was later explained to Nguyen that there is no data in the seating, only power. Roger Boyer left @10:12am.
