The board also helps direct City economic policy, promote small business growth, support local entrepreneurship, and assist the City in remaining responsive to the business community. Roll Call 2. Approval of the minutes a. Review and Approval of April 8, 2026, BAB Minutes BAB members will review April 8, 2026, meeting minutes and consider for approval. 3. Briefing by SLCPD 5 minutes The Salt Lake City Police Department will provide an update to the Board. 4. Briefings by the Staff 5 minutes a. Report from the Department of Economic Development. Economic Development staff will provide updates on the work of the Department of Economic Development to the Board. 5. Business Items a. Mayor’s FY27 Recommended Budget 20 minutes Ben Luedtke, Deputy Chief Financial Officer, will provide an overview of the Mayor’s FY27 Recommended Budget to the Board. b. Neighborhood Business Improvement Program (NBIP, aka Façade Grant) 5 minutes Shyann Hugoe, Community Development Grant Specialist, will provide a brief overview of the Neighborhood Business Improvement Program grant to the Board. c. Public Lands Fleet Block Open Space 15 minutes Makaylah Maponga, Public Lands Planner, will present plans for the Public Lands portion of the Fleet Block to the Board. 6. City Council Announcements – Austin Kimmel 10 minutes a. FY27 City Budget Season Kicks Off b. Dolores Huerta Boulevard 7. BAB Member Announcements 15 minutes a. BioHive & BioHive Live Update, Mr. Robertson b. Sheridan Mordue builds a connected retail experience with Hip & Humble c.
