David Chipman Andy C Steve Price called the meeting, held via Web-Ex to order at 8:07 a.m. Airport Advisory Board Meeting Minutes 19 May 2021 2 AGENDA A. Minutes A motion was made by Cyndy Miller and seconded by Dirk Burton to approve the minutes of April 21, 2021 as presented. All votes were affirmative; motion passed. B. Director’s Report Bill Wyatt, Executive Director, updated the Airport Advisory Board regarding current events. Bill Wyatt provided a brief update on passenger volumes, financial position, air service development, and construction. Arlyn Bradshaw asked if the current tunnel will remain open once the central tunnel is open. Bill Wyatt indicated a decision has not been made yet, but it would likely be closed. Steve Price disclosed the airport’s recent award from CCIM for project of the year and asked if meeting with the editorial boards of the Tribune and Desert News have been considered. Bill Wyatt answered meetings have already been arranged. C. Airport Redevelopment Program (ARP) Update – Mike Williams, ARP Director, SLCDA Mike Williams, Airport Redevelopment Program (ARP) Director, presented an update on the ARP (presentation on file). Main points included were: • Project statistics • Safety and Schedule Stats, and Cost Summary • Project statistics • CGMP #5 – Terminal/South Concourse West/Gateway status • CGMP #6 – Roadways/Parking Garage/Central Utility Plant status • CGMP #7 – Baggage Handling System status • CGMP #9A – SCW Apron Paving and Hydrant Fueling status • CGMP #16 – NCP Phase 1 • CGMP #17 – NCP Baggage Handling System Phases 1 & 2 status • CGMP #18 – NCP Apron Paving/ Hydrant Fueling • Tracking Budget • Job progress photos Roger Boyer asked if there was any way to speed up the production of the central tunnel. Mike Williams answered the concrete box or tunnel itself will be completed in 2022. The central node build out, connecting the tunnel to the concourse won’t be completed until 2024 and it can not be sped up. Airport Advisory Board Meeting Minutes 19 May 2021 3 Bill Wyatt added it is not about lack of funding, there are a lot of moving parts which need to be completed prior. D. Call for a motion to Adopt Rule Permitting Electronic Meetings – Steve Price, Board Chair Steve Price called for a motion and vote to approve the language below be added the SLCDA Advisory Board Rules: Pursuant to City Code 2.14.060(A) and Utah Code section 52-4-207(2), the Board hereby adopts a rule permitting electronic meetings of the Airport Advisory Board, regardless of whether a quorum is present at an anchor location, so long as such meetings comply with the Open and Public Meetings Act. Upon a motion by Cyndy Miller and seconded by Larry Pinnock, the board approved the new rule language. E. Public Meeting Act Online Training – Steve Price, Board Chair Steve Price notified Board Members online Open and Public Meetings Act training is due by July 15, 2021.
