Andy C Airport Advisory Board Meeting Minutes 21 April 2021 2 Steve Price called the meeting, held via Web-Ex to order at 8:01 a.m. AGENDA A. Minutes A motion was made by Larry Pinnock and seconded by Karen Mayne to approve the minutes of March 17, 2021 as presented. All votes were affirmative; motion passed. B. Director’s Report Bill Wyatt, Executive Director, updated the Airport Advisory Board regarding current events. Bill Wyatt provided a brief update on passenger volumes, financial position, and construction and a bird strike incident. Mayor Burton asked if South Valley Regional Airport will see any of the Cares Act Funding. Bill Wyatt answered yes. Steve Price asked as to the type of agreements come with the CAREs Act Funding. Bill Wyatt indicated they are reimbursable grants. Larry Pinnock asked the number of bird strikes that occur each year. Bill Wyatt indicated he did not know offhand; the information would be provided but it is watched very closely by the airport and the FAA. C. Airport Redevelopment Program (ARP) Update – Mike Williams, ARP Director, SLCDA Mike Williams, Airport Redevelopment Program (ARP) Director, presented an update on the ARP (presentation on file). Main points included were: • Project statistics • Safety and Schedule Stats, and Cost Summary • Project statistics • CGMP #5 – Terminal/South Concourse West/Gateway status • CGMP #6 – Roadways/Parking Garage/Central Utility Plant status • CGMP #7 – Baggage Handling System status • CGMP #9A – SCW Apron Paving and Hydrant Fueling status • CGMP #16 – NCP Phase 1 • CGMP #17 – NCP Baggage Handling System Phases 1 & 2 status • CGMP #18 – NCP Apron Paving/ Hydrant Fueling • Tracking Budget Airport Advisory Board Meeting Minutes 21 April 2021 3 • Job progress photos Steve Price if steel packages were on time and if prices are being held. He also asked about concrete powder. Mike Williams answered it is all a big mess right now. There are currently 38 ships waiting to port through Suez, but it is starting to clear. All steel was pre-purchased for the current construction. May see some wood price increases. There are concerns for future steel. HDJV is working on cement powder issues. It is affecting the west coast more than the east coast. Roger Boyer asked when the central tunnel will be completed. Mike Williams indicated the latter part of 2022 with the central node completion in late 2024. D. Concessions Update – Shane Andreasen, Director of Administration and Commercial Services, SLCDA Shane Andreasen, Director of Administration and Commercial Services presented an update to the airport concessions program (presentation on file.) E. Master Plan Update – Brady Fredrickson, Planning Director, SLCDA and Steve Domino, RS&H Brady Fredrickson, Planning Director and Steve Domino, RS&H presented an update on the Master Plan (presentation on file). Main points included were: • Master Plan Schedule • SLC Long Range Proportional Requirements • Solutions • Implementation • Next Steps Karen Mayne asked how the order of major programs is determined. Airport Advisory Board Meeting Minutes 21 April 2021 4 Steve Domino indicated safety is always taken into consideration first. Demands, such as parking also trigger considerations. Roger Boyer asked why the landside estimate is $244M. Brady Fredrickson answered this is the total cost of the expansion of the parking structure and rental car facilities.
