AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF SALT LAKE
CITY TO INCLUDE THE SALT LAKE CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT PROPERTY,
CONSISTING OF APPROXIMATELY 12.3 ACRES LOCATED GENERALLY AT
THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF 1700 NORTH AND REDWOOD ROAD,
PURSUANT TO PETITION NO. 400-03-24; AMENDING THE MASTER PLANS;
AND AMENDING THE SALT LAKE CITY ZONING MAP TO ZONE THE
PROPERTY UPON ANNEXATION INTO THE CITY.
WHEREAS, a petition has been filed with the City Recorder of Salt Lake City by
the Salt Lake City School District, as property owner, requesting that the property
described in petition be annexed within the corporate limits of Salt Lake City; and
WHEREAS, the petition is signed by the owner of the real property to be
annexed; and
WHEREAS, the petitioner has caused an accurate plat map to be made and
certified by a licensed engineer, or a license surveyor, to be approved by the City prior to
filing; and
WHEREAS, the Salt Lake City Council has passed a resolution accepting the
petition for purposes of review and hearing; and

WHEREAS, after having reviewed and examined the petition, and after having
considered the matters raised at public hearings concerning this matter, the Salt Lake City
Council finds that the proposed annexation is consistent and in keeping with the City's
Master Annexation Policy Declaration projecting municipal expansion; and
WHEREAS, on the date of the public hearing held before the Salt Lake City
Council,the documentation on the file in the City Recorder's Office demonstrates that the
owner of the property proposed for annexation has consented to annexation by the City;
NOW, THEREFORE,be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. Annexation. The Salt Lake City limits are hereby enlarged and
extended so as to include the Salt Lake City School District property, containing
approximately 12.3 acres of unincorporated territory in Salt Lake County, State of Utah,
located generally at the northwest corner of 1700 North and Redwood Road. Said
property is more particularly described as set forth on Exhibit A attached hereto.
SECTION 2. Amendment of Master Plans. To the extent necessary, the Master
Plans which were previously adopted by the City Council shall be and hereby are
amended to include the annexed property and to designate the land use for the annexed
area as public/semi-public.
SECTION 3. Zoning. The property located within the annexed area shall be and
hereby is designated and zoned Public Lands (PL). The Salt Lake City zoning map shall
be and hereby is correspondingly amended.
SECTION 4. General jurisdiction. The property annexed above shall
henceforth be within the Salt Lake City Corporate limits and shall be zoned as provided
herein. All ordinances,jurisdictions, rules and obligations of, or pertaining to, Salt Lake

City are extended over and made applicable and pertinent to, the above described
property, and the streets, blocks, alleys and ways of said property shall be controlled and
governed by the ordinances, rules and regulations of Salt Lake City.
SECTION 5. Filings and notice. Upon the effective date of this ordinance, the
City Recorder of Salt Lake City is hereby directed to file with the Salt Lake County
Recorder, after approval by the City Engineer, a copy of the annexation plat duly certified
and acknowledged together with a certified copy of this ordinance. The City Recorder is
further directed to provide notice to the Utah State Tax Commission under the provisions
of Section 11-12-1 of the Utah Code Annotated, as amended.
SECTION 6. Effective Date. This ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon the date of its first publication.
Passed by the City Council of Salt Lake City,Utah this 16 day of
