AN ORDINANCE REPEALING SECTION 15 . 16 . 030, SALT LAKE CITY
CODE, RELATING TO GOLF COURSE GREEN FEES UNTIL DECEMBER 31, 1992,
AND AMENDING SECTION 15 . 16 . 031, SALT LAKE CITY CODE, RELATING TO
GOLF FEES .
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1 . That Section 15 . 16. 030, Salt Lake City Code,
relating to golf course green fees until December 31, 1992, be,
and the same hereby is, repealed.
SECTION 2 . That Section 15 . 16. 031, Salt Lake City Code,
relating to golf fees be, and the same hereby is, amended to read
as follows :
15 . 16 . 031 Golf courses-Green fees .
A. There are imposed on any person playing golf at any of the
city golf courses the following fees :
1 . Green Fees-Weekdays (Monday through Thursday,
Excluding Legal Holidays)

3 . Season Golf Passes .
Season passes for calendar years subsequent to 1997 will be
available solely to those individuals who had purchased calendar
1997 season passes on or before June 30, 1997 . No other season
passes shall be issued. Current season pass holders shall renew
their passes annually in order to remain eligible for a season
pass . Any season pass holder who fails to renew a pass for any
year shall not be eligible for any further season pass .
As per the schedule in subsection A3c of this section, on
and after January 1, 1998, a surcharge will be assessed on the
date of play, on each round played using a season pass .
a . Regular rate, five hundred dollars .
b. Senior/junior rate, four hundred dollars .
c. Surcharge on all pass rounds (on and after
January 1, 1998) :

The use of funds collected via the surcharge will be solely
dedicated to physical improvements at city golf courses .
d. Standards in effect as of the effective date
of the ordinance codified in this section for using season golf
passes on Fridays until noon on specified courses shall remain in
effect up to and including December 31, 1997 . Effective January

1, 1998, season golf passes may not be used Fridays through
Sundays, on legal holidays, or for group reservation play.
4 . Team Special Play 9 holes 18 holes

Participants may also purchase large buckets of range balls
at the price of small buckets .

The department of public services, with concurrence of the
mayor, may set reasonable regulations with regard to amounts of
refunds for cancellations and time in which cancellations must be
made .

B. Only persons whose principal place of residence is within
the state and who, at the time of pass purchase, have a present
expectation to continue residency within the state throughout the
term of the pass, shall be eligible to purchase or use season
golf passes .
C . To receive any discount, the applicant must be a resident of
the state .
D. Junior/senior discount fees provided for in this chapter may
not be used Fridays through Sundays, legal holidays, or for group
reservation play.
E. Time for twilight and evening play at Mountain Dell shall be
set each week on Monday morning by the golf professional or its
designee .
F. No season golf pass shall be issued without payment to the
city of the appropriate fee listed in subsection A3 of this
section.
G. 1 . A "junior" is any person seventeen years of age or
younger.

2 . A "senior" is any person sixty-five years of age or
older.
H. Adjustment of Fees . The director of public services, with
approval of the mayor, shall have the authority, at any time, to
reduce the fees listed in Section 15 . 16. 031 for any city golf
course, if the director deems it necessary to in order to
increase the use of the golf course.
SECTION 3 . This ordinance shall take effect immediately
upon the date of its first publication.
Passed by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah this
11th day of April , 2000 .
