AN ORDINANCE VACATING AN ALLEY LOCATED BETWEEN EMERY
STREET (1170 WEST) AND 1200 WEST, AND BETWEEN LEXINGTON
AVENUE (1230 SOUTH) and ILLINOIS AVENUE (1150 SOUTH),
PURSUANT TO PETITION NO. 400-98-48.
WHEREAS, the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah,
finds after public hearings that the City's interest in the
portion of the alley described below is not necessary for
use by the public as an alley and that the vacation of said
alley will not be adverse to the general public's interest;
and
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of
Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That an alley located between Emery Street
(1170 West) and 1200 West and between Lexington Avenue (1230
South) and Illinois Avenue (1150 South), which is the
subject of Petition No. 400-98-48, and which is more
particularly described on Exhibit "A" attached hereto, be,
and the same hereby is, vacated and declared no longer to be
needed or available for use as an alley.

SECTION 2. RESERVATIONS AND DISCLAIMERS. The above
vacation is expressly made subject to all existing rights -
of -way and easements of all public utilities of any and
every description now located on and under or over the
confines of the property and also subject to the rights of
entry thereon for the purposes of maintaining, altering,
repairing, removing or rerouting said utilities, including
the City's water and sewer facilities. Said vacation is
also subject to any existing rights -of -way or easements of
private third parties.
SECTION 3. CONDITIONS. Title to the vacated portion
of this property shall remain with the City until
transferred by quit claim deed to the appropriate party or
parties. Each such deed executed shall contain a
restrictive covenant indicating that no permanent structures
may be built within the existing public utilities sewer
easement located on this property.
SECTION 4. EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance shall
become effective on the date of its first publication and
shall be recorded with the Salt Lake County Recorder. The
City Recorder is instructed not to publish or record this
ordinance until the conditions identified above have been
met, as certified by the Salt Lake City Property Manager.

If the conditions identified above have not been met within
one year from the date of this ordinance, the City Recorder
is instructed not to publish or record this ordinance, which
shall become null, void, and have no effect.

PROPOSALS FOR
CONSULTANT SERVICES FOR
WASTEWATER EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT
Salt Lake City Public Utilities Department is requesting proposals for providing services
relating to the development of a wastewater educational program, Project No. 524905200.
The statement of interest and qualifications shall not exceed fifteen pages. Resumes may
be attached and are not included in the page limit. The package should include the
following factors:
1) Name of firm and location of Utah office,
2) List of individuals to be involved in the project and their qualifications,
3) List of similar projects and experience of the firm,
4) Experience of the firm and key personnel to be involved in the project,
5) Detailed work plan,
6) Past performances of the firm on similar projects,
7) Capacity of the firm to accomplish the work within the required time,
8) Degree of familiarity of the firm with City project requirements, and
9) Proposed fee
For the proposal to be considered eight (8) copies must be received no later than 4:00
P.M. on Thursday, January 4, 2001, at the Salt Lake City Water Reclamation Plant, 1365
West 2300 North, Salt Lake City, Utah 84116.
Copies of the Request for Proposal for this work are available at the Department of Public
Utilities located at 1530 S. West Temple, Room 101.
