030 of 1991 - Amending Section 2.44.030 Relating to Conflict of Interest Disclosure and Disqualification0 91-20 SALT LAKE CITY ORDINANCE No. 30 of 1991 (Amending Section 2.44.030 Relating to Conflict of Interest Disclosure and Disqualification) AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2.44.030 SALT LAKE CITY CODE, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO CONFLICT OF INTEREST DISCLOSURE AND DISQUALIFICATION. WHEREAS, the Salt Lake City Council has held hearings before its own body and has determined that the following amendments to the City's regulation of conflict of interest for officials is appropriate and in the best interest of the City; NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That Section 2.44.030 be, and the same hereby is, amended to read as follows: 2.44.030 Disclosure and Disqualification. Whenever the performance of an appointed or elected officer's official duty shall require any governmental action on any matter involving the appointed or elected officer's financial, professional or personal interests and it is reasonably foreseeable that the decision will have an individualized material effect on such interest, distinguishable from its effect on the public generally, the officer shall disclose to the Mayor and to the members of the body of which the officer is a member, in the manner prescribed in Section 2.44.050 of this chapter or its successor, the nature and extent of such interests and shall disqualify himself/herself from participating in a deliberation as well as in the voting on such matter. SECTION 2. EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance shall become effective on the date of its first publication.
