037 of 2019 - Memorandum of Understanding; American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees Local 100
0 19-1 0 17-6 SALT LAKE CITY ORDINANCE No. 37 of 2019 (Amending the wage tables found in the current Memorandum of Understanding between Salt Lake City Corporation and the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees Local 1004) Adopting a new amendment to the wage tables found in the current Memorandum of Understanding ("MOU") existing between Salt Lake City Corporation and the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees Local 1004, representing eligible employees pursuant to the Collective Bargaining and Employee Representation Joint Resolution dated March 22, 2011. WHEREAS, on June 11, 2019, the Salt Lake City Council adopted an ordinance amending the rates of compensation paid to AFSCME members holding specific job titles and appropriating the necessary funds to pay for the amended rates of compensation; and WHEREAS, the certain specific job titles were impacted by changes that occurred during the past fiscal year or during the budget process and such impacts were not reflected on the wage tables that accompanied the amendment to the MOU. WHEREAS, AFSCME and the City now desire to further amend the wage tables in the MOU to reflect the updated wage information for each job title. Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. PURPOSE. The purpose of this ordinance is to amend the pertinent portions of the wage tables in the current MOU to better reflect changes addressed elsewhere in the budget with respect to certain specific job titles, and to adopt the attached amendment to the current Memorandum of Understanding, which shall become effective upon execution by the Mayor and the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees Local 1004. The amendments to the pertinent parts of the current wage tables are reflected on the Attached Exhibit A SECTION 2. APPROVAL. The amended Memorandum of Understanding between the City and the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees Local 1004 is hereby approved. SECTION 3. AUTHORIZATION. The Mayor of Salt Lake City, Utah is hereby authorized to act in accordance with the terms and conditions of the amended Memorandum of Understanding when it is properly ratified and executed.
