SALT LAKE CITY ORDINANCE
No. 39 of 1984
(Dog licensing)
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUBSECTION ( 4 ) AND ADDING A NEW
SUBSECTION (7 ) TO SECTION 6 OF CHAPTER 1 OF TITLE 100 OF THE
REVISED ORDINANCES OF SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, 1965 RELATING TO DOG
LICENSING.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 100-1-6 of the Revised Ordinances
of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to dog licensing , be
amended by amending subsection (4 ) and adding new subsection ( 7 )
as follows :
Sec. 100-1-6. Dog licensing. (1 )

(4) License fees:
Female dog $15.00
Male dog $15.00
Spayed or Neutered dog $5 .00
Late Fee $15 .00 ( in addition
to regular fee. )
No dog shall be licensed as spayed or neutered without proof that
such surgery has been performed .

(7 ) In lieu of the annual license fees provided above, a
person sixty years of age or older on the date of license
application may upon proof of age obtain a dog license for an
unsterilized dog for an annual fee of five dollars. A person
sixty years of age or older may obtain a dog license for a spayed
or neutered dog for a one time non-transferrable fee of ten
dollars, for the life of the dog. This section shall not be
construed to relieve any person from meeting all licensinq
requirements not specifically exempted including late fees and
required vaccinations.
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall take effect on July 1 ,
1984.
