0 83-27 M (.t f'-�1:1VD;F I L M E D SALT LAKE CITY ORDINANCE No. 42 of 1983 (Public Offenses ) AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 32 OF THE REVISED ORDINANCES OF SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, 1965, BY ADDING A NEW CHAPTER 10 RELATING TO PUBLIC OFFENSES. Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1 . That Title 32 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, be, and the same hereby is amended by ADDING a new Chapter 10 to read as follows: Chapter 10 PUBLIC OFFENSES Sections : 32-10-1 . False information. 32-10-2. False information to induce Salt Lake City to take action or withhold action. 32-10-3. False written statement. 32-10-4 . Falsification or alteration of government record. 32-10-5. Interf_ering with a health official. Sec. 32-10-1 . False information. It shall be unlawful for any person to knowingly and intentionally conceal or attempt to conceal his or her identity , falsely identify himself, or herself, or furnish or give false or misleading information to any person charged with enforcement of City ordinances, including but not limited to the following: ( 1 ) Any police officer of Salt Lake City Corporation; ( 2 ) An employee of the .Salt Lake City Fire Department; ( 3 ) An employee of the City/County Health Department enforcing the Salt Lake City health ordinances; ( 4 ) Parking enforcement officers; ( 5 ) City licensing personnel; (6 ) Zoning enforcement officers; ( 7) Planning officials; and/or ( 8 ) Building officials. Sec. 32-10-2 . False information to induce Salt Lake City to take action or withhold action. It shall be unlawful for any person to knowingly and intentionally give false information in making an application for any license, or for any zoning variance, or on any matter for which the City will use the information obtained to make a decision to either take action or withhold action. Sec. 32-10-3 . False written statement. It shall be unlawful for any person, with an intent to deceive any public official in the performance of his or her official function to: ( 1 ) Make any written false statement which the person does not believe to be true; or ( 2) Knowingly create a false impression in a written application for any pecuniary or other benefit by omitting information necessary to prevent statements therein from being misleading; or -2- ( 3 ) Submit or invite reliance on any writing, which the person knows to be lacking in authenticity; or ( 4 ) Submit or invite reliance on any sample, specimen, map, boundary, mark or other object, which the person knows to be false. Sec. 32-10-4 . Falsification or alteration of government record. It shall be unlawful for any person to: ( 1 ) Knowingly make a false entry or alteration of anything belonging to, or to be received by, or to be kept by Salt Lake City Corporation for information or record or which is required by law to be kept for information or record; or ( 2 ) Present or use anything , knowing it to be false, with a purpose that it be taken as a genuine part of information or records referred to in ( 1 ) ; or ( 3 ) Intentionally destroy, conceal, or otherwise impair the verity or availability of information of records referred to in section ( 1 ) . Sec. 32-10-5. Interfering with a health official . Every person shall be guilty of a misdemeanor who: ( 1 ) Attempts, by means of any threat, force, intimidation or violence to deter, interfere with or prevent any health department official from performing any official duty of the health department; or ( 2) Wilfully resist, delay or obstruct a health official in the performance of his/her official duty or fail to comply with -3- Affidavit of Publication STATE OF UTAH, SS.
