(Stop Intersections)
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 12, CHAPTER 44, SECTION 210,
SUBPARAGRAPH A OF THE SALT LAKE CITY CODE, 1988, RELATING TO
STOP INTERSECTIONS, AND RE-LETTERING SUBSEQUENT SUBPARAGRAPHS AS
FOLLOWS:
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah•
SECTION 1. That Title 12, Chapter 44, Section 210,
Subsection A of the Salt Lake City Code, relating to Stop
intersections be, and the same hereby is, amended, with
subsequent subparagraphs re-lettered as follows:
12.44.210 Stop intersections.
A. Except as specified in Subsection (B) , when more than
one vehicle enters or approaches an unregulated or an all-way
stop intersection from different highways at approximately the
same time, the operator of the vehicle on the left shall yield
the right-of-way to the vehicle on the right, unless otherwise
directed by a peace officer.
B. When approaching an unregulated intersection the
operator of a vehicle on a highway that does not continue beyond
the intersection shall yield the right-of-way to the operator of
any vehicle on the intersecting highway.
C. Except when directed to proceed by a police officer or
traffic-control signal, every driver of a vehicle approaching a
stop intersection indicated by a stop sign shall stop as
required by Section 12.48.030, or its successor, and after
having stopped shall yield the right-of-way to any vehicle:

D. In the event that a driver, after having driven past a
stop sign, is involved in a collision with a pedestrian having
right-of-way in a crosswalk or a vehicle having right-of-way in
the intersection such collision shall be deemed prima facie
evidence of such driver's failure to yield the right-of-way as
required by this section, but shall not be considered negligence
per se.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect upon the date
of its first publication.
