AN ORDINANCE VACATING A PORTION OF AN ALLEY LOCAT FD WITHIN
THE HIGHLAND PARK PLAT A SUBDIVISION, SAID ALLEY RUNNING EAST AND
WEST BETWEEN 18TH EAST AND MELBOURN E STREETS, PARALLEL TO
STRATFORD AVENUE IN SALT LAKE CITY.
WHEREAS, the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, finds
after a public hearing, that the City's interest in the alley
described below which was platted within the Highland Park Plat A `n
Subdivision is no longer necessary for use as a public way and
that the vacation of a portion of said alley described below will
not be adverse to the interests of the general public.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of Salt
Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1 . ALLEY VACATION. A portion of an alley located
within the Highland Park Plat A Subdivision, running east and
west between 18th East and Melbourne Streets, parallel to
Stratford Avenue, which is the subject of Petition No . 400-175 of

1984 submitted by Gary Guest, et al . , and more particularly 5�

described below be, and the same hereby is VACATED and declared GO
no longer to be needed or available for use as a public alley orb
public way:
Commencing at the Southeast corner of Lot 562 , 'tom'
Highland Park Plat A, a subdivision of the
Northwest quarter of the Southeast quarter of 4'
Section 21 T. 1 S. , R. 1 W. , Salt Lake Base & � �
Meridian and running thence West 118 feet to the
Southwest corner of Lot 562 ; thence South 12 feet
to a point on the North lot line of Lot No. 567;
thence East 118 feet to the Northeast corner of
Lot 563; thence North 12 feet to the point of
beginning.
RESERVATIONS. Said vacation is expressly made SUBJECT TO
all existing rights of way and easements of all public utilities
of any and every description now located on, in, under or over
the confines of the above-described property; and ALSO SUBJECT TO
the rights of entry thereon for the purpose of obtaining ,
altering, replacing, removing, repairing or rerouting said
utilities and all of them.
Said vacation is also SUBJECT TO any existing rights of way
or easements of private third parties.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect thirty days
after the day of its first publication.
Passed by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 17th day of July , 1984.
