SALT LAKE CITY ORDINANCE
No. 52 of 2017
(Amending the Salt Lake City Consolidated Fee Schedule for Foreign Trade Zone fees.)
An ordinance amending portions of the Salt Lake City Consolidated Fee Schedule to
include fees for the Foreign Trade Zone.
WHEREAS, Salt Lake City Corporation (the "City") is the Grantee of Foreign Trade
Zone No. 30; and
WHEREAS, the City has previously not charged fees to companies participating in the
Foreign Trade Zone; and
WHEREAS, the City is updating the Foreign Trade Zone from the Traditional Site
Framework to the Alternative Site Framework; and
WHEREAS, the City intends to charge fees to companies applying to participate in the
Foreign Trade Zone under the Alternative Site Framework and to charge an annual fee to
companies operating within the Foreign Trade Zone; and
WHEREAS, the City intends the new fees to become effective as of the date the
Alternative Site Framework is approved by the Foreign Trade-Zones Board; and
WHEREAS, on May 17, 2011 the City Council adopted Ordinances 2011-23, 2011-24
and 2011-25 to authorize and create the Salt Lake City Consolidated Fee Schedule; and
WHEREAS, it is now proposed that the Salt Lake City Consolidated Fee Schedule be
amended to add certain Foreign Trade Zone fees as shown in the attached Exhibit A; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds (i) the fees set forth in Exhibit A are necessary,
reasonable, and equitable in relation to regulatory and service costs incurred by the City; and (ii)
adoption of this ordinance reasonably furthers the health, safety, and general welfare of the
citizens of Salt Lake City.

NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the Salt Lake City Consolidated Fee Schedule shall be, and hereby is,
amended, in pertinent part, to reflect the fees set forth in the attached Exhibit A, and that a copy
of the amended Salt Lake City Consolidated Fee Schedule shall be published on the official Salt
Lake City website.
SECTION 2. That this ordinance shall become effective immediately after the Foreign-
