No. 56 of 1982
(Rezoning Northern portion
of the Kimball Apartment site
from "R-5" to "C-1"
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 51-12-2 OF THE REVISED
ORDINANCES OF SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, 1965, AS AMENDED,
RELATING TO ZONING AND FIXING OF BOUNDARIES OF USE DISTRICTS.
WHEREAS, in response to the request for a change in zoning
initiated by Franklin Financial, said petition being known as
Petition No. 124 of 1982, the City Council of Salt Lake City,
Utah, has held public hearings before its own body and before
the Planning Commission, and has taken into consideration
citizen testimony, planning and demographic details of the
area, and the master plan as part of its own deliberations.
Pursuant to these deliberations, the Council has concluded that
the proposed change of the northern 99 feet of the former Kimball
Apartment site from the existing Residential "R-5" zoning to a
Commercial "C-1" classification bringing the entire site into
"C-l" zoning, is appropriate for the development of the community
in that area.
THEREFORE, the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, hereby
adopts the following amendments to the Use District provisions
in Title 51.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the Use District Map as adopted by Section
51-12-2 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965,
as amended, relating to the fixing of boundaries of Use Districts,
be, and the same hereby is, AMENDED as follows:
Sec. 51-12-2. Boundaries of Use Districts. That the
following described parcel of land in Salt Lake City, Utah,
presently zoned "Residential "R-5", generally known as the north
99 feet of the site fermerly occupied by the Kimball Apartments
at 150 North Main Street, is hereby rezoned to a Commercial
11C-1" classification and the Use District Map is amended and
enlarged accordingly.

Beginning at the southwest corner of Lot 4, Blocky
93, Plat "A", Salt Lake City Survey; thence north
99.0 feet along the west line of said Lot 4 to I '
the south line of Gordon Place; thence east 298.0
feet along a line running parallel to and 99.0
feet north of the south line of said Lot 4; thence
south 99.0 feet along a line running parallel to
and 32.0 feet west of the east line of said Lot 4;
thence west 298.0 feet along the south line of said
Lot 4 to the point of beginning. Contains 0.6773
acres more or less.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect upon the date
of its first publication.
Passed by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, this
3rd day of August 1982.
