SALT LAKE CITY ORDINANCE
No. 6 of 2003
(Amending the Salt Lake City Zoning Code to Allow
an Intermodal Transit Passenger Hub as a Conditional Use
in the General Commercial Zoning District)
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE TEXT OF THE SALT LAKE CITY
ZONING CODE TO ALLOW AN INTERMODAL TRANSIT PASSENGER HUB AS
A CONDITIONAL USE IN THE GENERAL COMMERCIAL ZONING DISTRICT,
AND TO MAKE RELATED CHANGES, PURSUANT TO PETITION NO. 400-02-33.
WHEREAS, the Salt Lake City Zoning Code contains tables describing the
permitted and conditional uses for various zoning districts; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, finds after public hearings
that the table of permitted and conditional uses for commercial districts should be
amended to allow for an intermodal transit passenger hub as a conditional use in general
commercial zoning districts, and to make related changes;
NOW, THEREFORE,be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. The"Miscellaneous"portion of the"Table of Permitted and
Conditional Uses for Commercial Districts," located at Section 21A.26.080 of the Salt
Lake City Code shall be and hereby is amended to read as set forth on Exhibit A attached
hereto.
SECTION 2. The"Commercial/Manufacturing"portion of the table entitled
"Schedule of Minimum Off-Street Parking Requirements," located at Section
21A.44.060.F of the Salt Lake City Code shall be and hereby is amended to read as set
forth on Exhibit B attached hereto.
SECTION 3. Section 21A.60.020 of the Salt Lake City Code shall be and hereby
is amended to include the term"Intermodal transit passenger hub,"in alphabetical order.
SECTION 4. Section 21A.62.040 of the Salt Lake City Code shall be and hereby
is amended to include the following additional definition in alphabetical order:
"Intermodal transit passenger hub"means a publicly-owned and
operated central transit passenger transfer facility servicing rail,bus,
shuttle, limousine, taxis,bicyclists and pedestrians and may include,but is
not limited to, the following complimentary land uses such as offices,
restaurants, retail sales and services,bus line terminals,bus line yards and
repair facilities, limousine service and taxicab facilities.
SECTION 5. Effective Date. This ordinance shall become effective on
the date of its first publication.
