a section of the old Swanner road as

Petition No. 499-899-91)
AN ORDINANCE CLOSING TWO PORTIONS OF SWANNER ROAD AT
CALIFORNIA AVENUE AND RENAMING A SECTION OF THE OLD SWANNER ROAD
AS 2120 WEST STREET PURSUANT TO PETITION NO. 400-899-91.
WHEREAS, the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, finds
after public hearing that the City's interest in the two portions
of the public street described below are not necessary for use by
the public as a street and that closure of said street portions
will not be adverse to the general public's interest nor divest
the City of title to the properties without subsequent documents
of transfer; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it appropriate to rename the
stubbed and disconnected north portion of Swanner Road as 2120
West Street;
NOW THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of Salt
Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That two portions of Swanner Road at California
Avenue, which are the subject of Petition No. 400-899-91 and
which are more particularly described below, be, and the same
hereby is, CLOSED and declared no longer to be needed or
available for use as a public street, with the titles remaining
with the City until subsequent sale for market value or trade
with UDOT for other equivalent consideration.
Said street portions are more particularly described as
follows:
South portion:
A parcel of land in fee for a highway known as Project
/ No. 215-9, being part of an entire tract of property in
the NE1/4NE1/4 of Section 16, T.1S., R.1W., S.L.B.&M.
The boundaries of said parcel of land are described as
follows:
Beginning in the south right of way line of California
Ave. at a point 521.13 ft. west and 9.31 ft. south from
the Northeast corner of said Section 16; thence S.
89°54'52" W. 75.00 ft. along said south line, to the west
right of way line of the existing Swanner Road; thence S.
0°05'08 E. 63.55 ft. to the proposed northeasterly right
of way line of the Relocated Swanner Road; thence S.
29°05'04" E. 128.08 ft. to the easterly right of way line
of said existing Swanner Road; thence Northerly 90.04 ft.
along the arc of a 333.10-foot radius curve to the right
(Note: Tangent to said curve at its point of beginning
bears N. 15°34'24" W.); thence N. 0°05'08" W. 633.63 ft.
to a point of tangency with a 25.00-foot radius curve to
the right; thence Northerly, Northeasterly and Easterly
39.27 ft. to the point of beginning as shown on the
official map of said project on file in the office of the
Utah Department of Transportation. The above described
parcel of land contains 0.789.acre.
North portion:
Beginning at the southwest corner of Lot 2, Cambridge
-� Industrial Park Subdivision, a subdivision in the SE 1/4
of the SE 1/4 of Section 9 T. 1S., R. 1W., S.L.B. & M.
Thence north 0° 04' 04" west along the east line of
Swaner Road 27.00 feet; thence west 66.0 feet to the west
line of Swaner Road; thence south 0° 04' 04" east 27.00
feet to the north line of California Avenue; thence east
along said north line of California Avenue 66.0 feet to
the point of beginning.
Contains 1,782 square feet (0.04 acres).
SECTION 2. RENAMING PORTION OF OLD SWANNER ROAD.
The portion north of California Avenue of Swanner Road which

is being disconnected from California Avenue and reconstructed as
a cul-de-sac stubbed street shall become and the same hereby is, c'

renamed as 2120 West Street and all City departments are instructed
to amend any official maps to so reflect.
SECTION 3. RESERVATIONS AND DISCLAIMERS. The above closures
are expressly made SUBJECT TO all existing rights -of -way and
easements of all public utilities of any and every description now
located on and under or over the confines of the property and also
SUBJECT TO the rights of entry thereon for the purposes of
maintaining, altering, repairing, removing or rerouting said
utilities, including the City's water and sewer facilities, and all
of them. Said closures are also SUBJECT TO any existing rights -of -
way or easements of private third parties.
SECTION 4. EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance shall become
effective on the date of its first publication and shall be
thereafter recorded with the Salt Lake County Recorder.
