AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS, 12.16.010, 12.16.060 and
12.16.100 OF THE SALT LAKE CITY CODE, RELATING TO IMMEDIATE
NOTICE OF ACCIDENT REQUIRED, COLLISION WITH UNATTENDED VEHICLE
AND ACCIDENT REPORTS, RESPECTIVELY.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 12.16.010 of the Salt Lake City
Code, relating to immediate notice of accident required, be, and
the same hereby is, amended as follows:
12.16.010 Immediate notice of accident required.
A. The driver of a vehicle involved in an accident
resulting in injury to or death of any person or total property
damage to an apparent extent of seven hundred fifty dollars or
more shall, immediately by the quickest means of communication,
give notice to the police department.

SECTION 2. That Section 12.16.060 of the Salt Lake City
Code, relating to collision with an unattended vehicle, be, and
the same hereby is, amended as follows:
12.16.060 Collision with unattended property.
A. The driver of any vehicle which collides with or is
involved in an accident with any vehicle or other property which
results in damage to the other vehicle or property shall
immediately stop, and shall then and there either locate and
notify the operator or owner of such vehicle or other property of
such driver's name and address and the registration number of the
vehicle causing such damage, or shall attach securely in a
conspicuous place on the vehicle or other property a written
notice giving such driver's name and address and the registration
number of the vehicle causing the damage. If applicable, the
driver shall also give notice as provided in Section 12.16.010,
or its successor.
SECTION 3. That Section 12.16.100 of the Salt Lake City
Code, relating to accident reports; driver, witness and
investigating officer duties and supplemental reports, be, and
the same hereby is, amended as follows:
12.16.100 Accident reports --Driver, witness and investigating
officer duties --Supplemental reports.
A. The driver of a vehicle involved in an accident
resulting in injury to or death of any
damage to the apparent extent of seven
more shall forward a written report of

SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first
publication.
