067 of 2017 - Amending the zoning map pertaining one parcel located at 416 East 500 South Street to rezone the par 0 17-1 P 17-37 SALT LAKE CITY ORDINANCE No. 67 of 2017 (Amending the zoning map pertaining one parcel located at 416 East 500 South Street to rezone that parcel from RO Residential/Office District to R-MU Residential/Mixed Use District, and amending the Central Community Master Plan Future Land Use Map) An ordinance amending the zoning map pertaining to one parcel located at 416 East 500 South Street from RO Residential/Office District to R-MU Residential/Mixed Use District, and amending the Central Community Master Plan Future Land Use Map to change the future land use designation of that portion of property from"Residential/Office Mixed Use"to "High Mixed Use" pursuant to Petition Nos. PLNPCM2017-00184 and PLNPCM2017-00185. WHEREAS, the Salt Lake City Planning Commission held a public hearing on May 24, 2017 on an application submitted by James Alfandre ("Applicant") on behalf of Protean Properties, the property owner, to amend the city's zoning map to re-zone a parcel located at 416 East 500 South Street (the "Property") from RO Residential/Office District to R-MU Residential/Mixed Use District, and to amend the Central Community Master Plan Future Land Use Map concerning the Property to change the future land use designation of that property from "Residential/Office Mixed Use"to "High Mixed Use"pursuant to Petition Nos. PLNPCM2017- 00184 and PLNPCM2017-00185; and WHEREAS, at its May 24, 2017 meeting, the planning commission voted to forward a negative recommendation to the Salt Lake City Council on said applications; and WHEREAS, notwithstanding the planning commission recommendation, after a public hearing on this matter the city council has determined that adopting this ordinance is in the city's best interests. NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. Amending the Zoning Map. The Salt Lake City zoning map, as adopted by the Salt Lake City Code, relating to the fixing of boundaries and zoning districts, shall be and hereby is amended to rezone a portion of the Property located at 416 East 500 South Street(Tax ID No. 16-06-454-022), and more particularly described in Exhibit"A" attached hereto, from RO Residential/Office District to R-MU Residential/Mixed Use District. SECTION 2. Amending the Central Community Master Plan. That the Future Land Use Map of the Central Community Master Plan shall be and hereby is amended to change the future land use designation of a portion of the Property described in Section 1 above from "Residential/Office Mixed Use"to "High Mixed Use". SECTION 3. Effective Date. This ordinance shall become effective on the date of its first publication. Passed by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, this 5 day of December , 2017. CHA ERSON - .
