pursuant to Petition No. 400-96-45.)
AN ORDINANCE REZONING A PORTION OF THE HIGHLAND ACRES
SUBDIVISION LOCATED BETWEEN 2700 SOUTH AND ATKIN AVENUE
(2830 SOUTH) AND BETWEEN MELBOURNE AVENUE (1820 EAST) AND
2000 EAST, FROM R-1-7000 TO R-1-12000, PURSUANT TO PETITION
NO. 400-96-45.
WHEREAS, the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, has
held public hearings before its own body and before the
Planning Commission, and has taken into consideration
citizen testimony, filing and demographic details of the
area, the long range general plans of the City, and any
local master plan as part of its deliberations. Pursuant to
these deliberations, the City Council has concluded that the
proposed change of zoning for the portion of the Highland
Acres Subdivision located between 2700 South and Atkin
Avenue (2830 South) and between Melbourne Avenue (1820 East)
and 2000 East is appropriate for the development and
preservation of the community in that area.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of
Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That a portion of the Highland Acres
Subdivision, located between 2700 South and Atkin Avenue
(2830 South) and between Melbourne Avenue (1820 East) and
2000 East, which is more particularly described below, shall
be and hereby is rezoned from R-1-7000 to R-1-12000. This
real property is more particularly described as follows:
The point of beginning at the NW corner of lot 2,
Highland Acres; thence, east 1,040.00 feet to the
NE corner of lot 14, Highland Acres; thence, south
272.85 feet to the SE corner of lot 14, Highland
Acres; thence, west 80 feet to the SW corner of
lot 14, Highland Acres; thence, south 90 feet to
the NW corner of lot 40, Highland Acres; thence,
east 80 feet to the NE corner of lot 40, Highland
Acres; thence, south 312.85 feet to the NW corner
of lot 49, Highland Acres; thence, east 235.99 1
feet to the NE corner of lot 49, Highland Acres;l
thence, south 320 feet to the SE corner of lot 52
Highland Acres; thence, west 236.28 feet to the SW
corner of lot 52, Highland Acres; thence, south
85.25 feet to the SE corner of lot 54, Highland
Acres; thence, west 1,040.00 feet to the SW corner
of lot 66, Highland Acres; thence, north 818.10
feet to the NW corner of lot 32, Highland Acres;

thence, north 272.85 to the point of beginning.

SECTION 2. AMENDMENT OF ZONING MAP. The Salt Lake City
Zoning Map, as adopted by the Salt Lake City Code, relating
to the fixing of boundaries in zoning districts, shall be,
and hereby is amended consistent with the rezoning
identified above.
SECTION 3. EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance shall
become effective on the date of its first publication and
shall be recorded with the Salt Lake County Recorder.
Passed by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah,
