SALT LAKE CITY ORDINANCE
No. 68 of 2017
(Amending the zoning map pertaining to several parcels located within the Northwest Quadrant
area bound by the Northwest Quadrant Development Area and Eco-Industrial Buffer Area to
rezone those parcels from AG Agricultural District and OS Open Space District to M-1 Light
Manufacturing District and to remove the LCO Lowland Conservancy Overlay District from the
subject area; amending the zoning map pertaining to several parcels located within the Northwest
Quadrant bound by 1800 South Street to the north, 7200 West Street to the east and the western
and southern boundaries of the city boundary to rezone those parcels from AG Agricultural
District to M-1 Light Manufacturing District; and amending the zoning map pertaining to one
parcel located at approximately 1500 North 7200 West Street to rezone the parcel from AG
Agricultural District and OS Open Space District to AG Agricultural District.)
An ordinance amending the zoning map pertaining to several parcels located within the
Northwest Quadrant bound by the Northwest Quadrant Development Area and Eco-Industrial
Buffer Area to rezone those parcels from AG Agricultural District and OS Open Space District
to M-1 Light Manufacturing District and to remove the LCO Lowland Conservancy Overlay
District from the subject area; amending the zoning map pertaining to several parcels located
within the Northwest Quadrant bound by 1800 South Street to the north, 7200 West Street to the
east and the western and southern boundaries of the city boundary to rezone those parcels from
AG Agricultural District to M-1 Light Manufacturing District; and amending the zoning map
pertaining to one parcel located at approximately 1500 North 7200 West Street to rezone the
parcel from AG Agricultural District and OS Open Space District to AG Agricultural District
pursuant to Petition No. PLNPCM2017-00655; and
WHEREAS,the Salt Lake City Planning Commission held a public hearing on October
11, 2017 on an application submitted by the Salt Lake City Council ("Applicant") to rezone
several parcels located within the Northwest Quadrant bound by the Northwest Quadrant
Development Area and Eco-Industrial Buffer Area to rezone those parcels from AG Agricultural
District and OS Open Space District to M-1 Light Manufacturing District and to remove the
LCO Lowland Conservancy Overlay District from the subject area; amending the zoning map
pertaining to several parcels located within the Northwest Quadrant bound by 1800 South Street
to the north, 7200 West Street to the east and the western and southern boundaries of the city
boundary to rezone those parcels from AG Agricultural District to M-1 Light Manufacturing
District; and amending the zoning map pertaining to one parcel located at approximately 1500
North 7200 West Street to rezone the parcel from AG Agricultural District and OS Open Space
District to AG Agricultural District pursuant to Petition No. PLNPCM2017-00655; and
WHEREAS, at its October 11, 2017 meeting, the planning commission voted in favor of
forwarding a positive recommendation to the Salt Lake City Council on said application; and
WHEREAS, after a public hearing on this matter the city council has determined that
adopting this ordinance is in the city's best interests.
NOW, THEREFORE,be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. Amending the Zoning Map. The Salt Lake City zoning map, as adopted
by the Salt Lake City Code, relating to the fixing of boundaries and zoning districts, shall be and
hereby is amended as follows:
a. That the areas identified on Exhibit "A"attached hereto shall be and hereby are
rezoned from AG Agricultural District and OS Open Space District to M-1 Light
Manufacturing District;
b. That the areas shown on Exhibit"B" shall be and hereby are removed from the LCO
Lowland Conservancy Overlay District; and
c. That the area identified on Exhibit"C"attached hereto shall be and hereby is rezoned
from AG Agricultural District and OS Open Space District to AG Agricultural
District.
SECTION 2. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall become effective on the date of its
first publication.
Passed by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah,this 5 day of December ,
2017.
