(Unauthorized use of streets,
parking lots and other areas --Penalties)
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 12.56.550, BALT LAKE CITY
CODE, RELATING TO UNAUTHORIZED USE OF STREETS, PARKING LOTS AND
OTHER AREAS --PENALTIES.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 12.56.550, Salt Lake City Code, be,
and the same hereby is, amended to read as follows:
12.56.550 Unauthorized use of streets, parking lots and
other areas --Penalties.
A. Any person engaging in the unauthorized use of streets,
parking lots or other areas as provided under this chapter,
within the city, shall be liable for a civil penalty. Any
penalty assessed herein may be in addition to such other
penalties as may be provided in this Title 12 of the Salt Lake
City Code.
B.1. Civil penalties shall be imposed as follows:

2. Civil penalties shall also be applicable to the
following sections and chapters: Sections 12.56.020, 12.56.060,
12.56.070, 12.56.090, 12.56.130, 12.56.140, 12.56.160, 12.56.170,
12.56.200, 12.56.220, 12.56.230, 12.56.310, 12.56.340, 12.56.370,

12.56.530, 12.56.540, 12.56.550, 12.56.570, and Chapters 12.68,
12.72 and 12.84 of this title.
3. The following sections are subject to both subsections
A and B of this section, and to the penalties set out in Section
12.12.010; 12.28.010; 12.28.020; 12.28.090.
C. Any penalty that is paid within ten days from date of
receipt of notice shall be reduced by the sum of forty dollars.
D. Any penalty that is paid within twenty days from the
date of receipt of notice shall be reduced by the sum of thirty
dollars.
E. Any penalty that is paid within thirty days from date
of receipt of notice shall be reduced by the sum of twenty
dollars.
F. Any penalty that is paid within forty days shall be
reduced by the sum of ten dollars.
G. As used in this section, "receipt of notice" means the
affixing of a notice to the vehicle alleged to have been employed
in such unauthorized use, or by delivery of such notice to the
owner or driver thereof. (Ord. 71-91 Sec. 1, 1991; Ord. 22-90

SECTION 2. EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance shall take
effect on October 10, 1995
