Chief D ut City Recorder of Salt Lake City, Utah 0 87-1 P 87-15 SALT LAKE CITY ORDINANCE No, 77 of 1987 (Closing Edison Street between 600 and '700 South located in Salt Lake City, Utah, pursuant to Petition No. 400-456-86) AN ORDINANCE CLOSING EDISON STREET BETWEEN 600 AND 700 SOUTH IN SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, AND REQUIRING CERTAIN CONDITIONS. WHEREAS, The City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, finds after public hearing that the City' s interest in the public street described below is no longer necessary for use by the public as an street and that closure of said street with the reservation of certain easements will not be adverse to the general public' s interest nor will such closure relinquish or terminate the City' s interest in the underlying property without separate documents or transfer; NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1 . That the public street which is the subject of Petition No. 400-456-86 and which is more particularly described below, be, and the same hereby is closed and declared no longer to be needed or available for use as a public right of way; and the title to the City' s interest thereon shall be reserved and retained by Salt Lake City Corporation. Beginning at a point which is East 33. 5 feet .from the Southwest corner of Lot 2, Block 20, Plat A, Salt Lake City g� Survey, thence North 165. 0 .feet along the West line of / "1 Edison Street, thence West 16. 5 feet, thence North 165 . 0 feet to the North line of said Loot 2, thence East 11 . 5 feet, thence North 330 . 0 feet along the West line of Edison Street to the South right of way line of 600 South Street, thence East 16 . 5 feet along the South right of way line of 600 South Street, thence South 165. 0 feet along the East line of Edison Street, thence East 4 . 0 feet, thence South 495. 0 feet along the East line of Edison Street to the North right of way line of 700 South Street, thence West 20 . 0 feet to the point of beginning, said description to include all of the existing Edison Street located in Lots 2 and 7, Block 20, Plat A, Salt lake City Survey between 600 and 700 South Streets and 200 East and State Streets. RESERVATIONS. Said closure is expressly made subject to all existing rights of way and easements of all public utilities of any and every description now located on, in, under or over the confines of the above-described real property. ALSO SUBJECT TO the rights of entry thereon for the purposes of obtaining, altering, replacing, removing, repairing or rerouting said utilities and all of them. Said closure is also SUBJECT TO any existing rights of way or easements of private third parties. SECTION 2. CONDITIONS SUBSEQUENT. This Ordinance, after passage, shall be published but shall not become effective until the midblock street light is removed and the final design for the parking lot incorporating the north half of the closed street is approved by the City's Traffic Engineering Department. SECTION 3. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Ordinance, after the date of its first publication, shall not become effective until recorded with the Recorder of Salt Lake County. The Recorder of Salt Lake City is G U instructed not to record this Ordinance until the Mayor certifies thatC— CD the conditions above have been completed. If the foregoing conditions0000 are not completed within twelve months of the date of first publication, they may be extended as the Mayor deems appropriate for any amount of time. If, at any time during the extension, the Mayor determines the closure to be no longer in the public interest and the conditions not met, the Mayor shall give such notice to the City Recorder and this Ordinance shall thereafter be null, void and of no effect, and no recording thereof shall be allowed.
