SALT LAKE CITY ORDINANCE
No. 77 of 2001
(Authorizing Four Temporary Parking Lots Related to a Large-
Scale Special Event of National or International Significance)
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 3.52.050.D OF THE SALT LAKE CITY
CODE, AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION OF FOUR TEMPORARY PARKING LOTS
RELATED TO A LARGE-SCALE SPECIAL EVENT OF NATIONAL OR INTERNATIONAL
SIGNIFICANCE, PURSUANT TO PETITION NOS. 400-01-55, 400-01-58, 400-01-59 AND
400-01-60.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 3.52.050.D.3 through 6 of the SALT LAKE CITY CODE, shall
be, and the same hereby is, enacted to read as follows:
3. A temporary parking lot without the required parking lot design standards on
property located at 35 South 600 West.
4. A temporary parking lot without the required parking lot design standards on
property located between Main Street and West Temple and between 400 and 500
South.
5. A temporary parking lot without the required parking lot design standards on
property located on the east side of 500 West between 200 and 300 North.
6. A temporary parking lot without the required parking lot design standards on
property located on the east side of the 500 West between 300 and 400 North.
SECTION 2. CONDITIONS. This Ordinance is conditioned upon the following:
A. Execution of agreements, in forms acceptable to the City, providing for the
restoration of the parking lots after the large-scale special event.
B. Asphalt or similar paving material is installed for the first 100 feet of the
entrance/exits to reduce the amount of dirt that will be deposited on City streets;

C. Temporary lighting be installed that provides a minimum lighting output of 2.4 foot
candles;
D. That the City enforce the clean-streets ordinance if dirt or mud is being deposited on
City streets by vehicles exiting the proposed temporary parking lots; and
E. That handicapped parking stalls be provided at the temporary parking lot located
between 400 South and 500 South from Main Street and West Temple.
SECTION 3. EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance shall take effect on the date of its
first publication. The City Recorder is instructed not to record or publish this ordinance until the
conditions identified herein have been satisfied, as certified by the Salt Lake City Planning
Director.
