AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 51-31-1 OF THE REVISED
ORDINANCES OF SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, 1965, AS AMENDED, RELATING
TO THE OFFICIAL STREET MAP OF SALT LAKE CITY.
WHEREAS, in response to the request for a change in street name initiated by the
State of Utah Division of Facilities Construction and Management, said petition being
known as Petition No. 1200-01 of 1986, the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, has
held a public hearing before its own body and received the favorable recommendation of
the Planning Commission as part of its own deliberation. Pursuant to these deliberations,
the Council has concluded that the proposed change of street name of Garside Street to
1460 West Street between North Temple and 300 North Street is appropriate.
THEREFORE, the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, hereby adopts the
following amendment to the Official Street Map provisions of Title 51.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the Official Street Map, as adopted by Section 51-31-1,
Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, as amended, relating to the name of
streets, be, and the same hereby is AMENDED as follows:
Sec. 51-31-1. Names of Streets. That the name of "Garside Street", as it is
located at approximately 1460 West running north from North Temple to approximately
300 North, be changed to 1460 West Street, and the Official Street Map is amended
accordingly.
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall be published but shall not take effect until it is
recorded by the City Recorder. The City Recorder is instructed not to record this
Ordinance unless and until the Mayor certifies that the petitioners have paid to the City
the costs incurred in erecting new signs reflecting the name changes. In the event such
condition is not met within one year, this Ordinance shall be void.
Passed by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, this 4th day
of November 1986.
