HomeMy WebLinkAbout140 of 1985 - Condolences to family of Spencer W Kimball• SALT LAKE CITY CORPORATION Resolution of Mndnlnter RESOLUTION 140 of 1985 WHEREAS, the officers, employees and residents of Salt Lake City were greatly saddened to learn of the death of President Spencer W. Kimball, a man whom they will deeply miss; and WHEREAS, President Kimball has distinguished himself as a great community, business and church leader, and has served as President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter -Day Saints since December, 1973; and WHEREAS, during his calling as Church President, Spencer W. Kimball has carried out his responsibilities with love, compas- sion, energy and dedication to his church and to his fellow men; and WHEREAS, his untiring service to others has caused him to be greatly loved, respected and admired throughout the world; and WHEREAS, President Kimball's warmth and kindness will be sorely missed by those who knew him. NOW, THEREFORE, the Mayor and City Council of Salt Lake City, on behalf of themselves, the employees of Salt Lake City, and the City's residents, hereby extend their deepest felt con- dolence to the family of Spencer W. Kimball. May they ever be comforted in their loss by the bright memory of his many accom- plishments and service he has left as a testament of his life's work.
