Transmittal - 8/18/2022ERIN MENDENHALL Mayor CITY COUNCIL TRANSMITTAL MARY BETH THOMPSON Chief Financial Officer Date Received: Lisa Shaffer, Chief Administrative Officer Date sent to Council: TO: Salt Lake City Council DATE: August 9, 2022 Daniel Dugan, Chair FROM: Mary Beth Thompson, Chief Financial Officer SUBJECT: Consolidated Fee Schedule (CFS) Corrections STAFF CONTACT: Lisa McCarver, Director of Revenue and Collections, Lisa.Mccarver@slcgov.com 801-535-7926 DOCUMENT TYPE: Ordinance RECOMMENDATION: The Finance Department recommends the Council adopt changes to the CFS to correct errors and omissions found after the budget process. BUDGET IMPACT: N/A BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION: During the budget process for FY23, the CFS was updated with several changes. After the schedule was approved and adopted by the Council, Departments noticed errors and omissions that needed to be corrected. Specifically, we are requesting the following changes: Business License: Two fees were deleted in error in an attempt to clean up this section. We request reinstatement of the Bar Establishment and Liquor Consumption Fees. We also request the removal of the Single Event – Alcohol Consumption agreement fee as this is no longer used. Refuse: The contracted rate on Glass Recycling decreased. We request a reduction of this fee to align with that rate. Special Events: Fees for Waste and Recycling in this section differed from the actual rates for these services. We request a correction to the Landfill Tipping fee and Staff Costs. The CPI increase in error increased the fee for returned checks – this fee is statutory and is not subject to these increases. We request a correction to this fee located in the Housing Stability DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE 451 SOUTH STATE STREET, ROOM 245 SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH 84114 TEL 801-535-6403 8/18/2022 8/18/2022 Lisa Shaffer (Aug 18, 2022 11:09 MDT) Consolidated Fee Schedule (CFS) Corrections Transmittal to City Council and General Fund Miscellaneous Fee sections.
