(Applying the Mixed Use Transitional Overlay District
over the existing Residential "R-6" District within
the West Temple Gateway Redevelopment Project Area
generally located between 800 South and 900 South
and West Temple and 300 West Streets)
AN ORDINANCE APPLYING THE MIXED USE TRANSITIONAL OVERLAY
DISTRICT OVER THE EXISTING RESIDENTIAL "R-6" DISTRICT WITHIN THE
WEST TEMPLE GATEWAY REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT AREA GENERALLY LOCATED
BETWEEN 800 SOUTH AND 900 SOUTH AND WEST TEMPLE AND 300 WEST
STREETS.
WHEREAS, in response to the West Temple Gateway Redevelop-
ment Project Area, the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, has
held public hearings before its own body and before the Planning
Commission, and has taken into consideration citizen testimony,
filing and demographic details of the area and the Master Plan as
part of its deliberation. Pursuant to these deliberations, the
Council has concluded that the proposed application of the Mixed
Use Transitional Overlay District for the property located
between 800 South and 900 South and West Temple and 300 West
Streets currently zoned Residential "R-6" is appropriate for the
development of the community in that area;
THEREFORE, The City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, hereby
adopts the following amendments to the Use District provisions of
Title 21 .
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the Use District Map, as adopted by
Section 21. 14.020 of the Salt Lake City Code, relating to the

fixing of boundaries of Use Districts, be, and the same hereby is
AMENDED to read as follows:
Sec. 21.14.020. Boundaries of Districts - Use District Map
Adopted. Properties zoned Residential "R-6" within the following
described parcel of real property in Salt Lake City are hereby
included within the Mixed Use Transitional Overlay District as
created by Section 21.73.010, et seq. , Salt Lake City Code, and
the Use District Map is amended accordingly:
All of the Residential "R-6" zone located between 300
West and West Temple Streets, and 900 South and 800
South Streets, being more particularly described as
follows; beginning at a point West 8. 25 feet from the
Northwest corner of Lot 26 in Block 2 of Walker' s 04
Subdivision in Block 6 of Plat A Salt Lake City � L
Survey, thence East 585.75 feet to the center line of
200 West Street, thence North 132.00 feet along said �!
center line to the south right-of-way line of 800 /a-31f�g
South Street, thence East 585.75 feet along said
right-of-way line, thence South 580.00 feet, thence
West 585.75 feet to the center line of 200 West
Street, thence North 19.00 feet along said center
line, thence West 206.25 feet, thence North 16. 50
feet, thence West 189.75 feet to the center line of
Washington Street, thence South 16. 50 feet along said
center line, thence West 189.75 feet, thence North
429.00 feet to the point of beginning.
SECTION 2. EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance shall become
effective upon its first publication.
Passed by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, this
13th day of December 1988.
